When and Where
Let us know when you are going and where.

Anyone going to Greece soon? Let us know when and where.

Don't be shy in letting us know, this is one of the few independant forums, where you will be allowed to discuss tour operators, alot of forums don't allow you to do this. This forum can be great if we all just get posting.

RE: When and Where
5 years ago we went to Zante and stayed in a hotel called The Cronulla in kalamaki. It's run by Steve and Dia, a very nice couple. Lovely, spotless hotel with smashing breakfasts and nice swimming pool.
One evening we were drinking in the bar when 2 Germans came in and asked for a drink. Steve put down the shutters and turned off the lights saying he was closing. they left.
Minutes later the shutters went back up and the lights back on.
Steve told us that during the war the Germans landed on the island, made many of the locals including his mother and father dig trenches, then the Germans shot them and buried them in the trenches they'd just dug.

What a very sad story and I must admit my Mum doesn't like the Germans as she remembers the war and her Grandmother got bombed and only lived a few months in agony and suffering after the bombing. Not many Germans will get in an orderly queue and many will just push in the front and my Mum reminds them who won the war and sounding like Basil Fawlty whilst I am cringing hoping no one knows I am with her!

Without geography, you're nowhere.

RE: When and Where
I am so sorry for the incident. Well I had been to Greece way back when I was in school. I remembered our trip to Athens. The most famous sights are the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Agora, the Theater of Dionysos and the National Gardens.

RE: When and Where
We had a similar experience when in Malta, a German lad was peeing on a monument there, the locals went mad with him.

So they should, I think it is digusting when people pee in public in general but when they go to another country they should have even more respect.
