The traditional seaside town of Dawlish is dominated by stunning cliffs and rows of colourful houses. It is a great family holiday destination with a large sandy beach - Dawlish town beach - perfect for swimming, building sandcastles or rock pooling at low tide. The steam trains regularly go past right along the coast, giving Dawlish a real vintage appeal. Further along the coast there is the magnificent Dawlish Warren beach with its award-winning clean bathing water and one and a half miles of sand and dunes. There is loads to do here from go-karting and mini golf to a variety of water sports. Away from the seaside, visit Dawlish countryside park, a gorgeous 65-acre open space, great for dog walking (outside the deer park) and a day out with a picnic, or Dawlish Warren Nature reserve which attracts thousands of birds and is home to over 600 varieties of flowering plants. A seaside destination not to be missed!
