> Leyburn is situated in Wensleydale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, and is a pretty cobbled market town surrounded by magnificent countryside.  It is a great base for exploring the surrounding Dales, and the town itself is a lovely place to stay with excellent restaurants and lots of interesting and unusual shops to wander around. Out in the glorious Dales there is plenty of good old fashioned walking and exploring to be done.  Walk along the gentle limestone slope of Leyburn Shawl or along Wensley Park and delight in the pretty Wensley Falls.  For those wanting something a bit different then book a visit to The Forbidden Corner, a very popular family attraction just outside Leyburn.  It is a collection of labyrinths, pyramids and tunnels (some which lead to nowhere) and you need to get safely through while encountering tricks at every turn.  It is great fun and all set in very pretty gardens in Tupgill Park. For chocoholics then get yourself over  to 'Inspired Chocolate', a handmade chocolatiers where you can watch the whole process of chocolate making, scoff a load in the cafe and buy some for your friends if you are feeling generous.   Further out of Leyburn you can visit the remains of Bolton Castle and Middleham Castle or take a walk out to view the picturesque Harmby Waterfall.
