Synonymous with steel, it is what drives most of North Lincolnshire's industry. But away from its busy industry and cold alloys, the peaceful scenery and breathtaking countryside of North Lincolnshire is a treat to the eyes. Ideal for cycling or walking, it has many intriguing history sites along the way and many more beautiful attractions. Curiously, North Lincolnshire forms the part of Lincolnshire that is in Yorkshire & the Humber, where the rest of Lincolnshire is in the East Midlands. Home to the Haxey Hood, a 700 year old tradition where (covid permitting) hundreds of competitors take part in a large scrum to wrestle a leather tube. Yes it's utterly bizarre yet a simply brilliant sight to behold. Not only is it steeped in history, it boasts areas of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty', amazing beaches and chocolate box worthy villages. So whether you're looking for a pint in one of the local country pubs, looking for somewhere to unwind, or looking for eccentricity, North Lincolnshire offers something for everyone.
