One of the brightest jewels in the English Riviera’s crown, the seaside resort of Paignton has long stretches of beautiful sandy beaches, seafront promenades, a traditional pier, colourful beach huts and palm trees.  It's also home to Paignton Zoo - widely regarded as one of Britains top animal attractions - home to more than 250 animal species. Don’t miss Paignton Harbour - a real seaside gem with hundreds of boats, a historic harbour wall and a multitude of restaurants to sample the local fish.  Tucked away, just behind the harbour is the little red sand beach of Fairy Cove which is well worth a visit, as are the gardens at Roundham Head with stunning views out to sea. For the adventurous family members, try Splashdown Quaywest or the Geoplay park or take a trip on the more sedate vintage steam railway. Whatever you like doing you won't be bored in Paignton!
