Friendly site on a scenic nine-hole parkland golf course A 10-minute drive from Bude’s beaches and 15 minutes from Tamar Lakes Hilltop location with far-reaching views; farm shop nearby Days of golf and outdoorsy Cornish adventures, followed by relaxing eves alongside a scenic nine-hole parkland golf course. That’s what could be on the itinerary at Ivyleaf Golf Course and Campsite, a friendly and relaxed site just off the A39 between Bude (10 minutes’ drive) and Kilkhampton (five minutes). This hilltop location with spectacular views is an excellent base for both Cornwall and Devon adventures. As well as serving up some serious golfing vibes (you’re welcome to tee off on the nine-hole golf course on site), it’s also just 10 minutes’ drive from the coast. Active sorts, scenery aficionados and fans of the surf are likely to appreciate the up-and-down hikes on nearby the South West Coast Path, as well as watersports and surfing beaches. More watersports – this time of the sailing, windsurfing and kayaking variety – are run by the Tamar Lakes Activity Centre, 15 minutes’ drive from the site. For those times where your tummy’s calling out, you may want to take (potentially, plenty of) time to browse the cafés, shops, pubs and places to eat in Bude. Across the border, Clovelly’s cobbles (25 minutes) are just as splendid for a stroll and stops at eateries. Closer to the site are Cornish pubs, restaurants and a farm shop serving fresh produce and essential Cornish pasties within five minutes’ drive. The site facilities are well-equipped and include modern shower rooms, washing-up facilities and a chemical disposal point.
