Aiming to provide an eco-friendly no-fuss camping solution for visitors to Cornwall. Perfect for backpackers and families alike. How splendid is this rural spot close to the Cornish coast? So splendid that the family team fortunate enough to live here have been asked for years to open their fields for camping – and how fortunate for all Cornish holidaymakers that they now have: hop along here for eco-friendly stays in a highly quiet setting. Being Eco there are 4 compost toilets (cleaned regularly) and solar rainfall showers, along with 4 washing sinks with hot water and 2 cold water - aiming to show that Eco does not mean having to compromise. As you'll surmise from the pics, Hope Farm Holidays is in a spectacular setting, in lushly green surrounds with fab vistas over Cornish countryside and farmland. It's in a wildlife haven looking down on a valley: settle yourself down to spy visiting species including deer, buzzards, bats, kestrels, pheasants and rabbits – and do look out too for the resident dogs, and cats. If you choose to venture off site, the farm is a mere couple of miles from the sands and cliffs of Gwithian beach, close to the Godrevy Heritage Coast and famed Godrevy Point. St Ives is around 20 minutes drive, or hop on the train from St Erth for one of the most scenic train journeys in the UK. Please note that as the site is a few fields away from the A30, there can be road noise depending on wind direction. Barbecues and firepits on legs are both allowed (no disposable barbecues though): slabs are provided to keep them off the grass, and guests are requested to be vigilant in keeping flames under control. Firepits and wood can be hired from reception. For supplies, a service station is a few minutes' drive away and Hayle is under 10 minutes. Bookings must not be for more than 14 consecutive nights. Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit. Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.Please note that any arrivals after 10pm will not be permitted to pitch on the camping field to avoid disturbing other guests.
