Our Static Caravan acts as bathroom facilities primarily for tents or those tourers /campervans who don't have bathroom facilities. We have 1 shower in here and 2 toilets. There are also 2 additional flushable toilets adjacent to the static caravan. Portable toilets are available to hire. Firepits are also available to hire and we have wood & kindling available to buy.

Please be advised that there is no access to the river from our campsite. Our boundary is marked by a top wire fenceline which must be respected at all times.

Set in 10.5 acres of Northumberland countryside, this quiet and surreal small holding surrounded by the River Coquet is amongst some idyllic woodland walks with public footpaths, approx 5 minutes drive from Warkworth Castle and fabulous beaches. Walkmill is a hideaway site that offers a fantastic vacation with unprecedented privacy and space.

Our spacious tent pitches are located down near the river where the ground is fairly flat. All our tent pitches are without electric hook ups.

Near to the main property at Walkmill we have well spaced touring pitches available with electric hook ups. For those tourers who prefer to be off grid you have the option of spacious pitches situated in the crook of the River Coquet.

Alnwick Castle & Gardens, Howick Hall & Gardens. For National Trust members we are an ideal base to explore Cragside, Wallington Hall and Holy Island. Alnmouth Station is 10 mins away if you fancy a day trip to Edinburgh or Newcastle.

Set in an ancient wooded valley spanning six acres, our Bedford TK has been lovingly restored from a horsebox into a luxury glamper van for your off-grid getaway in Mitford, Northumberland. Described as a cottage on wheels, stunning panoramic views of ancient woodland surround the quiet little spot it sits in.

Our first glamper to be renovated, the 1964 Bedford TK is an off-grid luxury home on wheels. The Horsebox is situated in a quiet meadow with:

– Solar electricity & USB charging ports– Hot shower– Complimentary Faith in Nature shampoo, conditioner and body wash– Towels & bedding– Gas boiler and hob– Wood burning stove with oven– Outdoor fire pit & cast iron cooking set– Outdoor breakfast bar & canopy– Outdoor decking area

The sleeping area above the cab features a double bed with a memory foam mattress complete with luxury feather bedding and a beautiful porthole window to gaze out of at night. There is additional sleeping space on the sofa day-bed, which can be used as a bed for another guest, ideally a child but it could also accommodate an adult. Another child could sleep on a pull-out mattress if needed for a family of four. Children however are welcome to camp outside of the wagon if they want to.

The outdoor area has a cute decking space with seating, canopy & breakfast bar to the side of wagon with stools, tables and a fire-pit for cooking or relaxing by.

The site is located just 0.9 miles from the ancient market town of Morpeth and the train station, but is far enough away to feel secluded.

Our luxury converted Bedford TK horsebox is sited in the meadow of Little Low Haugh in Mitford, just 0.9 miles from Morpeth. With stunning panoramic views of the ancient Borough Woods enveloping the quiet little spot it sits in. 

This classic TK has been described as a cottage on wheels, with handmade furnishings, hot shower, wood burning stove, gas hob, outdoor dining and decking area, and LED lighting throughout. The sleeping area is a double bed with luxury bedding, with additional sleeping space for a small adult or child on a single sofa day-bed.

The toilet facilities are portable eco-friendly dry toilets that are located adjacent to the Horsebox in a converted railway luggage carrier. Hand washing facilities, toilet roll, soap, and hand sanitiser are all provided within the unit.

Abbeyfield Glamping

This hideaway site offers a fantastic vacation with unprecedented privacy and space; a delight for enthusiastic individuals, walkers, cyclists & families who enjoy the countryside and wish to explore its virtues.

Facilities include four toilets, a shower and a bath along with a shared kitchen, lounge area and a mini-shop. The pleasant 30 to 40 minute walk to Warkworth Castle takes in the riverside passing by the hermitage and once in Warkworth the wonderful sandy beach stretches for miles.

About Me

My name is John Nolan, I'm the owner and fully qualified surfing instructor of Northside Surf School. Northside is a family run business based in Britains best voted coastal high street 2015,Amble. Located on the beautiful and picturesque Northumberland coast there is nowhere better to enjoy a fun packed day at the beach.

I have worldwide experience surfing in Australia, Easter Island, Costa Rica, Lanzarote and France. Surfing has been my passion since I bought my first surf board at the age of 20. I pride myself in delivering quality surf tuition lessons and more!

When not delivering lessons I am spending time with family and friends and of course, hitting the amazing waves the North Sea has to offer!

Here at Northside Surf School we aim to offer an experience which wont be forgotten. You can choose from one of our five beautful beaches dotted along the Northumberland Coast. whether its a 1-to-1 lesson, family/friend groups, a celebratory gathering or a course we welcome all ages and abilities to come and see for yourself what the Northumberland Coast really has to offer.
All wetsuits and surf boards are provided and included in our prices, with hats and boots also available there is simply no excuse not to join in the cold yet amazing fun.


Surf Lesson agenda:

Stand up paddle Boarding Northumberland
Here at Northside we don't just offer surfing lessons, we offer Stand up paddle boarding lessons throughout Northumberland. You can choose from coastal tours or why not take a paddle up our local River here at Warkworth. We also have snorkeling equipment available for hire for those summer days, you won't believe how clear the North Sea can get!

From exploring the hidden bays or traveling up and around Warkworth castle, the location of your experience is completely up to you.

Alnwick Castle grounds has 12 stunning acres of meandering and magnificent, manicured gardens, which is home to the worlds largest Tai Haku Cherry Orchard, a Grand Cascade comprising of 120 water jets, an enormous treehouse restaurant, Ornamental gardens, rose gardens and even a small poison garden - filled with around 100 toxic and narcotic plants!  Don't worry, the garden is behind iron gates and is only open on guided tours.  It is a wonderful place to unwind, explore and be amazed.
