Mount pleasant farm Camping and Glamping site has recently opened as a new joint venture and addition to the farm , we offer approximately 15 camping pitches, some with electrical hook up, and 5 Glamping Huts sleeping from 2 to 4 persons. The site boasts stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and only 7 miles from Alton Towers. The Glamping Huts offer a luxurious experience with heating, lighting from our own restored lanterns, sumptuous bedding, and the facilities to cater for yourselves with the all weather outside stove, or one of the historic market towns close by. Whizz and Emily's unique farm museum will interest and delight. Attractions on the Farm The attractions at Mount Pleasant Farm include a 2 donkeys Marley and Billy, Axle the horse, and 3 pot belly pigs Gertie, Wiggles and Tiny, numerous hens and chicks, 2 sheep Stella (yes just like in Streetcar) and Elliot, and 5 little lambs that have joined us this year Charlie, BahBah, Lolita, Jerry (my favourite but don't tell the others), and Avicii (got a Vampire Diaries fan here). With one or both of us here most of the time to answer any questions or help in any way we can, we hope we can make your say a most enjoyable one. Whizz runs his farm machinery business from the farm offering year round sales of farm equipment and parts and also has a passion for vintage and horse drawn equipment and all sorts of old farming regalia. One of his barns is dedicated to a private museum housing all the vintage equipment which he is happy to show anyone around. Whizz restores farming implements which you will see dotted around the farm grounds; also restoring and painting items for sale for those people who may like something a little different as very attractive ornaments around gardens, house fronts and driveways, anything from small ploughs, cast iron tractor seats, old lanterns, milk churns and much more are a lovely and unique addition in most gardens. Mount Pleasant is a working farm and, regrettably, due to movement of tractors busying around on the farm and livestock we are not able to accept dogs We are taking bookings - see our opening dates below. We offer approximately 10 electric camping pitches, 6 non-electric and 5 Glamping Huts sleeping from 2 to 5 persons. The site boasts stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area on the edge of the Peak District National Park and only 7 miles from Alton Towers. The Glamping Huts offer a luxurious experience with heating, lighting from our own restored lanterns, sumptuous bedding, and the facilities to cater for yourselves with the all weather outside stove or one of the historic market towns close by. We are a small campsite with only approximately 16 pitches in total (no hard standing); Including: Electrical hook-ups ample for caravans, motor homes, Spare hook-ups if needed by those in Tents. The site is easily found (please see map) and has a good clear driveway to the site field entrance. Those on site have full use of over an acre of field and the views are outstanding. You are very welcome to bring your own BBQs. Shower and toilet facilities Our toilet and shower block is just opposite the entrance and offers separate ladies and gents both with showers and toilets. Lighting is on a sensor when you enter. The block is also heated and with our quirky milk churn sinks and full length mirror. The showers are token metered. You will need to bring your own towels. For Campers it is 50p for a 5 min. shower. Outside the shower block is a large sheltered sink area for washing dishes and drinking water. Washing up liquid and cloths are provided. ### Nearby Attractions There is so much to explore right on the doorstep and within the wider radius, and we are centrally located for so many attractions and activities to suit a wide variety of interests. For walkers there is a footpath that actually runs through the farm itself so you can pick that up and stroll the lovely countryside. Just down the road is the Manifold Trail with a 12 mile paved walk, with cafe shops on route, and of course the very famous Dovedale, with its' stepping stones across the river where the water is clear and many love to paddle and where you will see some of the country's most spectacular scenery. Rock climbing and more adventurous walking at the nearby Roaches again with spectacular scenery.
