Tyn yr Onnen Farm, Caravan and Campsite in Waunfawr, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, North Wales Set on a traditional Welsh sheep farm, this family run Campsite with Self-Catering accommodation lies at the foot of the Moel Ellio Mountain with Snowdon nestled behind. Tyn-yr-Onnen is the perfect spot for those who want to experience Snowdon, go off the beaten track and enjoy the farms breath taking scenery. The campsite facilities include a variety of pitches, with hook-ups if needed, modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. The campsite has a play park, a television room with table tennis and a pool table. There is plenty of space for BBQs; we even allow camp fires in one of our camping fields; after all we think that camp fires are an essential part of camping. Tyn-yr-Onnen also has a variety of self-catered accommodation so you can enjoy this picturesque location with some added luxury. From the farm there are 100s of acres of heath land to explore where you may meet our sheep, donkeys, lamas, pigs, ponies, chickens, ducks and turkeys. If you visit us in the spring, you can see some of our new born lambs. Walks to Mynyndd Mawr and Moel Elio mountains are easily accessible from the site, the most adventurous can even walk to the summit of Snowdon - we will be happy to recommend some of our favourite walks. Its not all about mountains and walking, there are castles to explore in Caernafon and Beaumaris, and the beautiful beaches in the Llyn Peninsular and the Isle of Anglesey. The Welsh Highland Railway Station in the village is a pleasant walk from the Campsite. Zipworld with the fastest zipline in the world is easily accessible by car. A short drive brings you to the village of Llanberis with the famous train to the summit of Snowdon, Electric Mountain, LLanberis Slate museum, and so much more. Camping & Caravans Covid 19 Update Tents, Caravans and Campervans We are able to accept booking for tents from the 25th July when all toilet, shower facilities and the utility room will be open on the site. Accommodation types

  • The Gerlet Pod — The Gerlet Pod is built from local timbers and has uninterrupted views of the Mynydd Mawr and Moel Eilio mountains. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points. Camp fires are permitted in a fire basket hired from reception. Outside there is a BBQ, cooking area and a picnic table. The campsite showers and toilet facilities are close by. The Gelert pod sits in its own area above the campsite. Please be aware there are no beds in the Pods and you need to bring everything you might need for a camping trip apart from the tent and the facilities mentioned below. Dogs 2 allowed (fee per stay per dog). Cars 1 included (extra car additional fee per night)
  • Mynydd Mawr SuperPod — Mynydd Mawr SuperPod (Sleeps 4 adults and 1 small child) The Mynydd Mawr SuperPod is a refurbished caravan with excellent views of the Mynydd Mawr and Moel Elio Mountains. It has an open plan living space that includes a kitchen and dining area with fridge and gas hob, microwave, sink as well as pots, pans, plates and cutlery etc. There is a double sofa bed, two single Z beds, and a small bed for a child. A bathroom with toilet and wash basin. The campsite showers are close by. Outside the SuperPod has a large decked area with a picnic table and BBQ. Dogs 1 allowed (fee per stay) Cars 1 included (extra car additional fee per night)
  • Grass Tent Pitch — The campsite facilities include a variety of pitches, with hook-ups if needed, modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room.   • Ty Bach — Ty Bach is a one bedroom lodge, next to our reception. It has its own veranda and garden with views of the Mynydd Mawr Mountain, The lodge has a double bedroom, an open plan lounge, kitchen diner and fully fitted kitchen and shower room including wash hand basin and toilet. 1 car included for free.
  • Super Pitch Inc Electric Hook Up — The campsite facilities include a variety of pitches, with hook-ups if needed, modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. The campsite has a play park, a television room with table tennis and a pool table. There is plenty of space for BBQs; we even allow camp fires in one of our camping fields; after all we think that camp fires are an essential part of camping.   • Buarth Wern — Buarth Wern is a 3 bedroom wooden lodge with uninterrupted views of the Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr mountains. Tucked away from the camp site, with its own entrance and grounds. There is plenty of outside space in which to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside, the stunning views, and the sound of the small stream running nearby. The lodge has been fitted to a high standard. It has 3 bedrooms, two doubles, one single and a sofa bed in the lounge. The bathroom has a shower, w/c and wash hand basin. The open plan living area includes sofas, TV, dining area and a fully fitted kitchen, including a dishwasher, mircowave and fridge. The lodge has central heating and free internet access. Outside there is a large decked area, with picnic table, bench, BBQ and fire pit. (2 cars included in this booking) Extra cars are charged additional fee per night.   • Llety'r Bugail — Llety'r Bugail is a two bedroom wooden lodge, with its own entrance and parking area. The lodge has a large decking area with uninterrupted views of the Moel Elio and Mynydd Mawr Mountains, a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the countryside. It has an open plan lounge and fully fitted kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, wash hand basin and w/c. The lodge has two bedrooms, one double bedroom, the other has full sized bunk beds. Outside there is a picnic table and BBQ.
  • The Moel Pod — The Moel Pod is built from local timbers and has an uninterrupted views of Moel Elio and Mynydd Mawr mountains. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points. Camp fires are permitted in a fire basket hired from reception. Outside there is a BBQ, cooking area, picnic table and a water point. The campsite showers and toilet facilities are close by. The Moel pod sits in its own area. Please be aware there are no beds in the Pods and you need to bring everything you might need for a camping trip apart from the tent and the facilities mentioned below. Sleeps 4 adults or 2 adults + 3 children 2 allowed (fee per stay per dog). 1 car included (extra car additional fee)
  • The Onnen Pod — The Onnen Pod is built from local timbers and has uninterrupted views of the Mynydd Mawr mountain, and the surrounding area.
