Delny Glamping is a family-friendly glampsite five minutes' drive from the port town of Invergordon in the northern Highlands. Offering a picturesque site, in the grounds of the renowned Delny House dating back to the 16th century with views towards Cromarty Firth. Delny Glamping is more than just your usual glampsite, offering an experience within the heart of the highlands where lifelong memories can be made. All of our glamping accommodation have private, ensuite facilities. Each glamping pod has a flat screen TV, free, fast wifi, and private seating and fire pit. Delny Glamping has larger family glamping pods which easily accommodate 6 people. There is a large pirate ship, play park if you are looking for the perfect family glamping site. Our private whisky barrel glamping pods provide the perfect destination for a romantic weekend near Inverness. Alternatively, our newly renovated Smokehouse, provides self-catering accommodation for those couples seeking something with all mod-cons. It features a private hot-tub and wood burning stove.
Accommodation types
- Wee Bothies — In Scotland a bothy is known as a small hut or cottage, originally one for housing farm labourers or for use as a mountain refuge. They are scattered throughout the Highlands and are still used to this day. The Wee Bothies are our version of a Highland Bothy that sleeps up to 4 people. Whether it be family or friends sharing, you will be sure in making lasting memories in this accommodation. With a private bedroom with double bed and Rockin Roller (double sofa) bed. This gives guests the option to sit, eat, play games during the day and at night utilise the space as a private sleeping area. In the evening families and friends can huddle round their private firepit, cooking alfresco and lapping up the clear, beautiful highland night air.
- Whisky Barrels — If it’s a genuinely, authentic, Highland experience you are looking for? Then you definitely need to stay in one of our Whisky barrels. Our bespoke Barrel shaped whisky themed havens are equipped with all the necessities of home featuring original whisky staves from actual whisky barrels. The Barrels pods include a super king sized bed, private en-suite shower room and flat screen TV, all to make your holiday feel like home from home. In the evening set alight your own fire pit and enjoy a wee dram under the Scottish stars. Sitting at an elevated position, enjoy the beautiful views of the Cromarty firth from the luxury and comfort of your bed.
- Muckle Bothies — Our Muckle Bothies were created with families in mind (but friends are also welcome). The Daniels family is a family of 6 so is well aware of the difficulties in finding accommodation for larger families. These Bothies (Blether & Braw) ensures all loved ones can sleep under the same roof, making memories together. Our cleverly designed bothy has two separate bedrooms with a double bed in one and 2 sets of twin bunk beds in the other, making it easier for bigger groups and ensuring a good restful sleep. Muckle Bothy guests can make use of their own private fire pit or opt for the grander option of the bbq hut. The hut is placed conveniently in the centre of the site to make eating outside an easy and stress free option.
- “The Auld Reekie” – Smokehouse — The Auld Reekie Salmon Smoke House – this is our newest accommodation that opened in March 2020. Offering a luxury experience within a converted former salmon smoke house. The accommodation sleeps 2 people with a kitchen that includes a fridge, two ring hob and microwave. You also have a bathroom, living area with wood burner, double bed, outdoor seating, bbq and your very own private hot tub overlooking a barley field. The Smokehouse has a minimum stay of 2 nights so you can really experience what this luxurious and unique accommodation has to offer. This is an adults only accommodation.
- The Servants Quarters — Set within a private 16th century period home ‘Delny House’. The Servants Quarters provides a modern, fresh look as well as being in keeping with the properties traditional qualities. Staying in the Servants Quarters allows guests to peak into the life of how the Servants used to live within this historic house. Guests can enjoy 2 double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other has two single beds. Both boasts modern en-suite facilities and a private kitchen. This accommodation allows guests to come and go as you please with your own private parking area, private entrance with key box entry. All essentials are provided with your private kitchen including seating for 4 people. Ideal for couples, families with children or travelling groups
