What a spot – family-run Isle of Anglesey site Maes Tywyn Campsite is in a splendid setting with peaceful surrounds, easy access to walks and beaches, and village amenities less than a mile away.

This nifty location is a 10-minute trot from the little village of Newborough (or Niwbwrch if you’re practising your Welsh lingo) – there’s a pavement all the way along the road so you should have a safe enough saunter to the village’s café, chip shop, convenience store or pub. If you’d like your eats even closer you can either light up a barbie or meander along to the Michelin-starred restaurant that happens to be a mere five minutes away.

Getting out to the rest of the island is a cinch from here: there are plenty of places to walk in the surrounds (perennial fave spot Ynys Llanddwyn is an hour away on foot), and you can get to even the most far-flung beaches with a drive of half an hour or so. Fancy ditching the car for a day? There’s a bus stop a short walk away for buses to Bangor and beyond.

Back at base, peaceful times are very much encouraged – there’s heaps of space to chill out here with gorgeous views towards Snowdonia by day and a fab array of stars overhead after dark (clouds permitting, of course). There’s also a playground for the small sorts to scamper about in, and it’s been cleverly kitted out with benches for restful parental supervision.

No dangerous breed dogs, other types of dogs are welcome.

Want an alternative to a night under canvas then why not try glamping in our Shepherd’s Hut. The Shepherd’s Hut which sleeps 2 people is a warm, comfortable alternative to camping. It is located in a secluded area of the park, ideal for relaxing after a long day exploring the numerous attractions in the area. The Shepherd’s hut is equipped with a double bed (duvet, pillows and covers are provided), toilet, sink, wood-burning stove, single gas stove, table and chairs, crockery, cutlery, water, gas, electricity & Wi-fi. Our shepherd’s hut is a pet-free accommodation.

Rhyd Y Galen Caravan And Camping Park

Stiwdio Eithinog is the perfect holiday retreat for a couple or single person wanting comfort, tranquillity and space. Room is available for a small bed or cot to accommodate a young child if required.

The front door leads to a kitchen diner area, which is very well equipped with a cooker, a double hob, a microwave, an extractor and plenty of storage space for food and drinks etc.

The kitchen leads directly to the lounge/bedroom area, where a stepped floor separates a comfortable lounge from the sleeping area. The room has heating, a television, comfy seats and footstools and a wonderfully comfortable double bed.

Beyond the bedroom, you will find the bathroom/toilet. This room has a basin, toilet and shower. A towel radiator keeps towels warm and an extractor removes excess moisture.

To the rear of the Stiwdio, accessed through the rear door is a small, reasonably secluded outside area, perfect for enjoying some afternoon sun or a relaxing drink in the fresh air.

Parking is available right outside the front door of the Stiwdio in a parking area shared with the neighbouring Eithin Bach cottage.

We also have a small room that can be used as a drying room for wet outdoor clothing. It has hanging lines, clothes pegs, a dehumidifier. This room is lockable and it is available to both holiday lets.

Stiwdio Eithinog is a strictly no smoking and no pets cottage, thanks.

Stiwdio Eithinog

Eithin Bach is the larger of our two cottages. It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with a bunk bed, allowing for a very comfortable stay for a couple or a family with one or two young children.

Eithin Bach is double-glazed and electrically heated throughout. It is furnished and decorated to a very high and comfortable standard. Photography by the owner can be found throughout the property. Bed linen and towels are provided. Mobile phone signals and 4G mobile data are strong in Eithin Bach, Wifi is not so strong in the living area, but it is OK at the bathroom end of the cottage.

The kitchen/lounge has a large table, a spacious cooking area, and comfortable seating on a double sofa or single soft chair. There is a fridge freezer, electric oven, electric hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, Freesat TV and two heaters. The kitchen is set up to allow for a home-from-home self-catering experience to be enjoyed.

The main bedroom, which makes this property perfect for a couple wanting a luxury holiday has a large double bed, one heater, a chest of drawers, two bedside units and a spacious open-plan hanging rail. Bed linen, bath towels and a hand towel are included.

The bathroom/toilet is very light and comfortable. It sports a bath and a separate walk-in shower. Plenty of mirrors and cupboard space make for a lovely room to freshen up after a great day out. The bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom, from the living area.

The small bedroom has a bunk bed, chest of drawers, heater and a small open plan hanging rail. The deep windowsill provides a little extra storage space.

This room is accessed through the bathroom and for this reason, I would suggest that it would suit a small family more than two separate couples or a couple with two friends.

Parking is available right outside the front door of the cottage in a parking area shared with the neighbouring Stiwdio Eithinog cottage.

Eithin Bach is strictly a no-smoking and no pets cottage.

Opposite the entrance to Eithin Bach is a small drying room that is equipped with hanging lines, clothes pegs and a dehumidifier. This space is perfect for drying wet outdoor clothing. This room is lockable and it is available to both holiday lets.

Our Caravan and Motorhome Club site is a dream location for privacy, tranquillity and basic amenities. It is a CAMC-certified location.

Each of our five pitches has substantial privacy, it's own 10 amp electrical hook up and access to a communal toilet disposal point. Fresh drinking water is available on the site, however, we do not have a shower or hand basin washing facilities.
The site is child friendly with plenty of running around the room and a small football goal. Parental supervision is always recommended for children.

The site has a no-smoking policy, but dogs are allowed. Dogs must be kept on a lead, or under close control at all times, when outside your campervan or motorhome. There are no exceptions to this rule as dogs running loose can severely impact the enjoyment and safety of other site users. A dog waste bin is provided on-site for bagged dog waste.

Electric Grass Pitch

The small family home of Cefn Eithin provides two comfortable self-catering holiday cottages and a small certificated Caravan and Motorhome Club site.

Stiwdio Eithinog and Eithin Bach are located next to the family home of Cefn Eithin. Both are perfect for a  small family or a couple to holiday throughout the year. Both cottages are very comfortable, well-decorated and furnished. They offer a delightful home-from-home self-catering holiday experience. The beautiful castle town of Caernarfon and the gorgeous Snowdonia National Park are both within very easy reach of Cefn Eithin.

Parking for each property is ample and privacy is afforded.

The tranquillity of the location is wonderful, as are views of the Snowdonia mountains and over Abermenai to Anglesey

Both cottages are available for long or shorter-term bookings, depending on availability.

A certificated Caravan and Motorhome Club site is situated in a pleasant half-acre field just next to the main house.

Welcome to Ty’n Cae Caravan and Camping, come along and enjoy yourself at our lovely camping site located in Ty'n Cae, Llangefni.

Set on my 5 acre smallholding in central Anglesey. 5 mins drive to the market town of Llangefni with a good range of shops. Children are welcome to bring toys to play in the camping fields or the next playground is 5 minutes walk. Our local pub is 10 minutes walk and serves a good selection of meals. We have breathtaking beaches in every direction within 15/20 minutes drive.

Facilities include fresh water points, waste water and electric hook up. We have twoshower and toilet facilities. Child and dog friendly site, within 5 mins of a55, junction 6 and Llangefni where there is a good range of shops.



Ty’n Cae Caravan and Camping Site

The Gerlet Pod is built from local timbers and has uninterrupted views of the Mynydd Mawr and Moel Eilio mountains. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points.

Camp fires are permitted in a fire basket hired from reception.
Outside there is a BBQ, cooking area and a picnic table. The campsite showers and toilet facilities are close by. The Gelert pod sits in its own area above the campsite.
Please be aware there are no beds in the Pods and you need to bring everything you might need for a camping trip apart from the tent and the facilities mentioned below.

The Mynydd Mawr SuperPod is a refurbished caravan with excellent views of the Mynydd Mawr and Moel Elio Mountains.

It has an open plan living space that includes a kitchen and dining area with fridge and gas hob, microwave, sink as well as pots, pans, plates and cutlery etc. There is a double sofa bed, two single Z beds, and a small bed for a child. A bathroom with toilet and wash basin. The campsite showers are close by.

Outside the SuperPod has a large decked area with a picnic table and BBQ.

The campsite facilities include a variety of pitches, with hook-ups if needed, modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. There is plenty of space for BBQs; we even allow camp fires in one of our camping fields; after all we think that camp fires are an essential part of camping.

Buarth Wern is a 3 bedroom wooden lodge with uninterrupted views of the Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr mountains. Tucked away from the camp site, with its own entrance and grounds. There is plenty of outside space in which to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside, the stunning views, and the sound of the small stream running nearby.

The lodge has been fitted to a high standard. It has 3 bedrooms, two doubles, one single and a sofa bed in the lounge. The bathroom has a shower, w/c and wash hand basin. The open plan living area includes sofas, TV, dining area and a fully fitted kitchen, including a dishwasher, mircowave and fridge. The lodge has central heating and free internet access.

Outside there is a large decked area, with picnic table, bench, BBQ and fire pit.

Llety'r Bugail is a two bedroom wooden lodge, with its own entrance and parking area. The lodge has a large decking area with uninterrupted views of the Moel Elio and Mynydd Mawr Mountains, a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the countryside.

It has an open plan lounge and fully fitted kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, wash hand basin and w/c. The lodge has two bedrooms, one double bedroom, the other has full sized bunk beds.

Outside there is a picnic table and BBQ.

Llety'r Bugail

The Moel Pod is built from local timbers and has an uninterrupted views of Moel Elio and Mynydd Mawr mountains. The Pod is very well insulated and has heating and lighting (inside and outside), as well as two power points.

Set on a traditional Welsh sheep farm, this family run Campsite with Self-Catering accommodation lies at the foot of the Moel Ellio Mountain with Snowdon nestled behind. Tyn-yr-Onnen is the perfect spot for those who want to experience Snowdon, go off the beaten track and enjoy the farms breath taking scenery.

The campsite facilities include a variety of pitches, with hook-ups if needed, modern toilet blocks with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower room and a utility room. The campsite has a play park, a television room with table tennis and a pool table. There is plenty of space for BBQs; we even allow camp fires in one of our camping fields; after all we think that camp fires are an essential part of camping.

Tyn-yr-Onnen also has a variety of self-catered accommodation so you can enjoy this picturesque location with some added luxury.

From the farm there are 100s of acres of heath land to explore where you may meet our sheep, donkeys, lamas, pigs, ponies, chickens, ducks and turkeys. If you visit us in the spring, you can see some of our new born lambs. Walks to Mynyndd Mawr and Moel Elio mountains are easily accessible from the site, the most adventurous can even walk to the summit of Snowdon - we will be happy to recommend some of our favourite walks.

Its not all about mountains and walking, there are castles to explore in Caernafon and Beaumaris, and the beautiful beaches in the Llyn Peninsular and the Isle of Anglesey. The Welsh Highland Railway Station in the village is a pleasant walk from the Campsite. Zipworld with the fastest zipline in the world is easily accessible by car. A short drive brings you to the village of Llanberis with the famous train to the summit of Snowdon, Electric Mountain, LLanberis Slate museum, and so much more.

Tyn-yr-Onnen

Named for the Great Orme visible along the coast. And available to book for couples or young families.

(Available from April 2022.)

Orme, named for Llandudno's famous landmark, the Great Orme which can be viewed from the coastal footpaths nearby the Coppice will be our 'Family' pod, due for completion in 2022. It's decor will have a "Countryside" twist with woolen throws draping the bed, farm animal inspired artwork, and a woodland to enjoy right outside the door.

Whilst the Coppice is not geared towards specific family holidays, what we are ideal for is those youngest families where you're not quite ready to give up on a quality "grown up" break, and your children aren't quite ready for kids clubs and mass entertainment. Have the campfire experience, toast some Marshmallows, and just enjoy the great outdoors, whilst the awesome indoors is always ready and waiting for you close by.

All our pods have an ensuite shower room as well as kitchen facilities, and underfloor heating. 

Please note that this accommodates only 2 adults. Additional 2 guests can either only be children or infants.

Ayr, named for the Point of Ayr lighthouse, on Talacre Beach, is our flagship 2 berth pod. It's decor has a "Coastal" twist in keeping with its namesake. With woollen throws, fresh & light beach inspired colour scheme, and local coastal artwork on the walls.

Ayr is further enhanced by being an extra metre longer than our standard pod, and with a side entrance. enables the addition of a much larger ensuite shower room, and a sumptuous snuggle chair to cuddle up in front of your wood burning stove (new 2022) on those cooler nights.

If you fancy getting back to basics but aren’t quite ready to sleep under canvas, then our pine-clad, heated Glamping pods are perfect for you. Equipped with a kettle and a microwave, you have everything you need to start your day right. Early-risers may even catch the sunrise over the mountains from your veranda. After a day of thrill seeking, return to your cosy pod and enjoy a good night’s rest on the comfortable beds, ready for more action tomorrow.

Each pod sleeps two people with use of the spotless communal showers and WC which are a short walk from the pods but. There is also a composting loo just next door.

Seren (Star in Welsh) is our premium Yurt. With mains electricity, separate kitchen hut, alfresco dining area and a wood fired hot tub this really is the ultimate glamping experience.

Seren is sited in its own private, secluded clearing. It is the ideal yurt for a group of friends, a family or a romantic getaway for two, guests can enjoy the private hot tub or just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity this charming accommodation offers. The beautiful beaches of Porth Dafarch and Trearddur Bay are just a short walk away along with a plethora of pubs, restaurants and shops in the local area.

Seren Yurt

Our Eco Dens are a great first step into the world of Glamping, with Heating supplied by the onsite Biomass and electricity created by our onsite Solar Farm. After a day of exploring all that Anglesey Outdoors has to offer, you and up to four people can step into your very own cosy den, complete with en-suite shower and toilet, small kitchenette and comfortable beds, all designed to ensure your evenings are as easy and relaxing as possible. Pelorus Eco Den

Traeth (or Beach in Welsh) is ideal for a couple or single traveller.

Set in a private area, nestled amongst the trees sits our smallest yurt. With a private deck area it is ideal for a some alfresco dining on the barbecue.
It is fully furnished with a double bed, storage, kitchenette and the all important wood fired stove for cosy nights in.
A five minute walk away is the beautiful Blue Flag beach of Porth Dafarch and the Coastal Path making it an ideal location for all things outdoors.

Traeth Yurt

Adjoined to our Main Centre, is the self-contained Ty Pen Annexe, which offers groups a more private style of accommodation. With three bedrooms, an open-plan lounge, fully equipped kitchen and it’s own private barbeque patio, the annexe offers you a real home away from home. Better yet, end your day of adventuring by watching the sunset over Holyhead Mountain from your very own balcony.

If you find yourself in the annexe as part of a larger group using the Main Centre, fear not, you won’t miss out on the action, as the centre is accessible through a short corridor. The Main Centre provides you the ideal base to make the most of all that Anglesey Outdoors and the surrounding area has to offer.

We are a small personal Centre run by a dedicated team. We provide a welcoming atmosphere and individual service to help you get the most from your stay. We can accommodate up to 76 residents within the Centre. We also offer sole occupancy for your group if you prefer. Anglesey Outdoors Centre is open all year. During the winter months our visitors are mainly sea kayakers, walkers and climbers who come to take advantage of the quieter season and mild climate. From March onwards as the days draw out and the water temperature increases our guests have many reasons for visiting Anglesey.

Set in fourteen acres of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a ten minute walk from Porth Dafarch beach, with views of the spectacular Snowdonia Mountain Range, the centre offers itself as the prime location for all things outdoors. From coasteering, to canyoning, to sea kayaking. Or for those preferring to stay dry, there’s rock climbing, bush craft and so much more, all brought to you by friendly, expert instructors. As a camper, there are occasions when you arrive at your destination, exit the vehicle and actually need a few minutes to gawp open-mouthed at the views before you pull yourself together and manage to set up camp.  This is one of those occasions.  Blackthorn Farm, a lovely family run Camping and Touring Site (with self catering accommodation and a bed and breakfast too) is situated in an idyllic spot by Trearddur Bay, on the west coast of Holy Island in North Wales.  It is set in 18 acres of outstanding, unspoilt beauty with panoramic views over the Irish Sea, the Snowdonia Mountains and across the Isle of Anglesey.  

Trearddur Bay itself has a sheltered and sandy Blue Flag graded beach set into a dramatic rocky coastline.  The sweeping curve of sand slopes gently into the sea and the beach gets the sun all day long.  It is excellent for sunbathing, swimming, rockpooling and watersports such as sailing and kayaking.  Along this stretch there are many other smaller beaches and inlets which you can explore along the coast road leading to the South Stack Lighthouse.

Facilities at Blackthorne Farm are of a high standard, with electric hook-ups, a good shower and toilet block, WiFi, Laundry and a great shop selling essentials - plus they have a cafe where you can get breakfasts and packed lunches should you wish, ideal to take along on a day trip for a picnic.

So, a bit about Holy Island if you’re not familiar with it.  It is a small island (only 15 square miles) just to the west of the larger Isle of Anglesey and well connected to it by two roads.  It is known as “Holy” because of the large amount of standing stones and burial chambers on the island, dating back as far as 6,000 years ago.  One site in particular on Holy Island has uncovered all sorts of exciting archeological treasures; the remains of a Neolithic timber house, an Iron Age roundhouse village and ornamental jewelry from thousands of years ago.  Aside from the abundance of ancient sites, Blackthorn Farm is also in a fantastic location to access many excellent beaches - Benllech, Aberffraw and Traeth yr Ora to name a few.  There are miles of scenic coastal walks and a host of activities on offer such as swimming, coasteering, mountain hiking, scuba diving and sea and lake fishing.  Excellent day trips include the Sea Zoo in Anglesea, Caernarfon Castle, Beaumaris Castle, Llanddwyn Island and the RSPB Nature Reserve.

The sunsets at Blackthorn Farm really are something else, so if you can possibly manage to get all your activities done and get back to your camp before sun down, you will be rewarded!
