# Cartref Caravan & Camping A warm & friendly welcome awaits you to our small level site set in peaceful rural Shropshire, nestled within the surrounding hills, and less than 10 minutes from the beautiful medieval market town of Shrewsbury, which boasts over 600 listed buildings, Britian's 3rd tallest church spire and the World's first skyscraper! We have on site a small quiet Quirky bar serving local ales, wines and some spirits, even a local Gin!! We also have a small onsite shop selling local produce to include everything for the essential campsite breakfast, along with milk, cheese, yoghurts, burgers, bread,beers & wine, choosing to support local producers and suppliers whilst keeping the prices comparative to the local supermarket. With easy access from the A5,Cartref is an ideal base to explore the attractive market towns of Shropshire and along the Welsh border for example Ludlow, voted one of the top 20 foodie towns of Great Britain; Bishops Castle, with it's two breweries, a must for those who enjoy a good pint of real ale For those who enjoy walking there are many possibilities, discover the Shropshire Hills AONB's (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty), walk along the Shropshire Way, or Offas Dyke National Trust properties such as Attingham Park, Powis Castle, Chrik Castle, Erddig, Boscobel House to name but a few are within easy driving distance Ironbridge and it's many museums are only 18 miles away Cartref is also the first campsite off the A5 travelling North West, making it an ideal stop off on your route to North and Mid Wales Whether in a caravan, motorhome, campervan or tent , stay a while, relax and explore an oasis of tranquillity in the beautiful Shropshire countryside A Modern Amenities block including toilets, showers, dedicated disabled wet room, laundry room and washing up area 44 Fully Serviced pitches having mains water, grey waste and electric hook up All caravan pitches are hard standing with a grass area to the side, situated around gardens with privacy hedges to each pitch All tent pitches also have electric hook up, Water Tap and Drain We have a separate dedicated Adults Only Area We have a purpose built enclosed childrens play area, close to reception and the bar area. WE are a dog friendly site where well behaved dogs are wlecome on leads. A dog walk with an enclosed off lead exercise area so there's plenty of room to stretch their legs.
