South Shields Surf School At South Shields Surf School we operate a surf school from Sandhaven Beach. We give surf lessons, run a kids surf club and hire out boards & suits. Kids Surf Lessons 2 hours of fun on the beach and in the sea for kids 6-18 years. Everyday at weekends and school holiday 10-12 in the morning. The kids will learn the skills to catch waves and get up standing and riding. £20 per person including all the gear needed. Adult Surf Lessons 2 hour surf lesson for adults only. 6-8pm every Thursday and Friday. We'll get you standing on the board on a wave and then develop your surfing and improve your technique from there. £20 per person including all the gear needed. Open Surf Lessons 2 hour surf lesson open to anyone. 2-4pm every Saturday and Sunday. SUP An hour and a half of stand up paddle boarding to give you the skills to be up and paddling about. £20 per person including all the gear needed. We'll get you standing on the board on a wave. £20 per person including all the gear needed. Rockpooling 1 and a half hours of family fun seeing what's been left behind by the tide in our rock pools. Come along and see what you can find. Lead by outdoor education specialists and we provide all the gear needed. £5 per person and adults accompanying kids under 6 go free. Hire Available! Don't want to have a lesson? Not a problem, we can hire you everything you need to enjoy surfing here in the North Sea, so you just need yourself, swimwear, a towel and warm clothes for afterwards!
