Goyt Valley Camping is a secluded, off-grid site with amazing views over Derbyshire dales to Buxton. Sitting in the Peak District National Park, this is a wonderful location for walkers and cyclists, with grass pitches surrounded by peaceful farmland. You can access wonderful valley walks from the site, or head off on foot or by bike along the High Peak Trail for some serious, long-distance yomping amid glorious dales between Middleton Top (40 minutes’ drive) and Parsley Hay (20 minutes). Pick up barbecue supplies from farm shops in local villages, or at the Tuesday and Saturday markets (or the supermarkets, of course) in the elegant spa town of Buxton (five minutes), where there’s plenty of parking. If you’d rather let someone else do the cooking, there are oodles of pubs, cosy tea shops and restaurants in the town centre, as well as a whole raft of takeaways. Buxton also offers loads for families, from a miniature train to an activity park and toddler play areas, and for an adults’ big night out, you can book musical extravaganzas at the famed Buxton Opera House or blockbuster films at the Pavilion Arts Centre. Facilities are fairly simple at this back-to-basics campsite – guests have access to a portaloo and washing-up area. You are welcome to bring along your dogs on your country break, but please keep them under control at all times. Coronavirus Update We are taking bookings - see our opening dates below.
