Situated on a lane that is peaceful the outskirts of this town of Salen, the cottage is in a slightly elevated position supplying considerable, uninterrupted views across the noise of Mull to the Morvern Hills beyond. Salen is a village that is small located regarding the island, with a broad store, little supermarket, postoffice, laundrette, church, hotel, Italian restaurant, storage, petrol section, doctor's surgery and a cottage medical center. There are regular bus solutions to Tobermory as well as the Craignure ferry. The region is full of wildlife; deer, sea-eagles, buzzards, hen harriers and many other wild birds are seen frequently round the cottage.
