> Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery

Portsmouth City Museum is a superb destination for people to the city to have an excellent introduction to your city as well as has activities programmes for local residents.Kids will cherish the look of the spot, that will be similar to a fairy tale castle, with turrets and pointed roofs, but it is really a former barracks! The primary display in the museum is the 'Story of Portsmouth' and provides kids a good opportunity to learn how life at home has changed on the centuries within the galleries, which reconstruct a Victorian parlour, a 1930s kitchen area, a 1950s living room. There can be a dockyard worker's home from 1871 and a century bedchamber that is 17th. Children find away about a decade that varies each room. The museum also displays short-term exhibitions on an array of subjects therefore repeat visits could be just like fun since the first one.Permanent exhibitions include 'A research in Sherlock', which gives kids a chance to learn about Arthur Conan Doyle and his famous creation. The gallery explores Doyle's life and includes a Sherlock Holmes mystery. The 'No place like Pompey' exhibit explains many of the things that make Portsmouth unique and many of this items that you will observe whilst the young ones explore the city. There can be a picture gallery, a neat soccer that is little and an art form collection so there really is one thing for all to take pleasure from!
