# Prior's Lodge

Established in 1398, Mount Grace Priory, home and Gardens is one of the best-preserved Carthusian monasteries in England. The monks who called it home lived as a residential district of hermits and today it is possible to explore this separated life style in a monk*s that is recreated and garden. The priory and its particular beautifully preserved gardens still offer an appealing sense of solitude making for any occasion that is peaceful. The visitor home had been changed into a family residence, which was extended in 1901 by Sir Lowthian Bell, wealthy patron associated with the Arts and Crafts movement into the seventeenth century. You can observe some of the available spaces refurbished in this style, detailed with William Morris wallpaper. During your stay, just take the chance to enjoy the Yorkshire that is surrounding countryside. Uncover the wide range of tasks within reach within the North York Moors and along the Cleveland Way National Trail.
