Stocking Farm Caravan And Camp Site

A quiet caravan and camp site, we do not allow noise after 10pm as this would disturb many of our guests, particularly those who have children. Please take note also that we do not take tents larger than 4 man in size. The caravan site is located well off the main road along a private drive. Scenic views from the site of the gritstone escarpement of Curbar Edge. The old mill stream which used to power the water wheel of an 18th century cotton mill flows along the edge of the site. Ideally located for those who enjoy walking, a public footpath runs through the farm. A 5 miles walk along the footpath in one direction through fields, by the river and through a wood leads to Hathersage, said to be the burial place of the outlaw, Little John. In the other direction, the footpath leads to Baslow 2 miles away, again by the river and through a wood after which, a short walk through the village leads into Chatsworth Park. We do not take card payments or cheques. Payment is to be made in cash on arrival. From April 2021 Day Fishing Permits for fly fishing on our private stretch of the Derwent will be available for purchase by guests staying on the site. All those wishing to purchase a Day Ticket must provide sight of a current fishing licence. A maximum of two permits per day will be issued.
