Accommodation types
- Batch Belles — Batch Belles are our latest edition to our campsite. Sleeps up to six people. Bring your own bedding and clothes. We can supply the rest. That includes campbeds, skinny mattresses, lighting, and camp kitchin with gas stove and all the utensils you'll need.
- Gurt Yurt — The site is in the Mendip Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set in your own private meadow surrounded on three sides by woodland, the yurt is an oasis for wild life. You may be lucky enough to get a visit from our local deer who often amble into your own meadow, normally in the morning. You will certainly be serenaded by the wild birds.

**Facilities:** The yurt has a king sized brass bed and the bedding is Egyptian cotton. The skylight lets you stargaze all night. As well as a wood burning stove there is an electric blanket,hot water bottles, woollen blankets and an electric heater for extra comfort on chilly nights. The veranda is great for watching the sun sink at the end of the day. Hammocks, a picnic table and barbecue area with seating, swings and badminton are available outside. We have some impressive sunsets over the Severn Estuary from May through to August.
You have your own private hot shower and wash house next to the yurt, along with wash basin and eco toilet. Inside the yurt is a fridge, kettle, toaster and single hot plate, along with all the kitchenware you'll need, so you don’t have to brave the elements for a cuppa on chilly mornings.
Outside is a double sink with drinking water running hot and cold with sprays and soaps supplied.
Down on the ground sheltered beside the verandah is the barbecue area with an unlimited supply of wood and a big steel firepit to cook up a storm or just slowly warm up a few of our marshmallows on our special forks.
**Local Area:** There are many well-regarded pubs within walking distance at either end of the Batch. The Crown and the Nelson at the bottom of the hill(10-15 mins walk), the Star and the Swan(15-20mins walk - you may want to book beforehand) in the opposite direction and Thatcher’s Railway Inn over in Sandford. Churchill village is 15minutes walk away on the western edge of the Mendip Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, about 8 miles east of Weston-super-Mare, and about 15 miles south-west of Bristol.The village has a busy post office selling food and drink and dispensing cash as well as having a small cafe. There are many walks, cycle paths including the famous Strawberry line, and other outdoor activities nearby. Cheddar offers many beautiful walks, trails, cycle paths and lovely tea shops, and is also walkable from the yurt (about three hours!).
**Your neighbours:** You may find deer, foxes, squirrels, owls and the unseen badgers hanging out already. The rescue chickens will almost be certainly be round to check you out. The meadow has a variety of wild flowers including wild orchids. The wood behind the yurt is a mix of ash, oak, hazel and hawthorn hiding you from view for most of the year.
- Almost Wild Camping Pitch — This is simple camping! Every pitch has a firepit. You can bring your own wood or buy a bag or two from the onsite owner or forage in the nearby woods. NOW with Proper toilet facilities with soaps and gels and a library. Hot showers also available. Tap with drinking water, washing up bowls and a large sink or two.
Shared fridge and freezer. We will recycle but would be grateful if you take other waste with you. Parking is 50m from the campfield. You can use our wheelbarrows to transport your equipment to your pitch. Beautiful views and dark skies. Maps and walking guides available.
Orchard with seating, hammock and swings. Games area including badminton. Chickens sometimes roaming free.
