Based in the middle of green farmers fields, near beautiful beaches and nature reserves, Romney Meadows Caravan and Camping Park offers an ideal getaway to one of Kent's best kept secrets, whether you want to caravan, motorhome or camp.

We're located just outside the seaside town of New Romney in the South East corner of Kent; a unique stretch of land which literally grew from the sea over thousands of years; an important port in Roman times, that become a smuggler's marshland in the 18th Century, a military defence against Napoleon, and today; miles of open fields, golf courses, little known sandy beaches and unique nature reserves.

Romney Meadows is all about finding some calm in this quiet corner of the country; enjoying a walk, cycling, sitting on the beach or playing a round of golf, and if you do want some excitement, there's always the watersports centres which are just a short drive through the countryside.

The Orca is a small site with basic facilities and pleasant abode positioned in secluded area on our property. Unlike other accommodations, ours resides minutes away from the quieter and more private side of the beach. Firepits, and pinic tables with basic facitlies this is an environment for people who love the beach life.

The Orca is situated in Rye. Set 11 km from Camber Castle, this wooden structured  property is fully insulated against all elements, offers a garden and free private parking.

Dogs are welcome but must be on leads as the owners have cats.

Edwardian home that is semi-detached.  Sits in quiet environments within easy walking distance of city.  Refurbished to a standard that is high.  Each space offers its very own identification and appeal, known as after a town that is neighborhood.  Minimal Saltcote is non-smoking, but thoughtful for those who wish to smoke outside.  This friendly guest that is family-run has contemporary facilities and any such thing that will be not currently supplied into the spaces is usually available upon request.  Visitors have utilization of the garden that is a new comer to relax in with their afternoon cup of tea.  Trouser hairdryer and press available.

Wheatfields Glamping has two luxury Safari stryle tents/lodges generously spaced apart.  Skylark is the larger of the two tents also  sleeping 8 people but with more living and deck space and glass bi-fold doors.

The main difference is an extra bedroom with a king sized bed which can be split into two twin beds on request.

Skylark also has a larger wheelchair accessible bathroom with walk in shower.

The kitchen and living area has a great bar with stools, large round table seating eight and comfy sofa area  in front of the woodturning stove.

Skylark sleeps up to 8 people in four separate bed rooms:

* The Master main has a king-sized four-poster bed.

* The Cabin has a double bed and is accessed by a ladder.

* The Bunk room has one adult strong bunk beds sleeping 2.

* The twin room beds can be joined together to make a king.

* Travel cot available free of charge.

* The site is in a secluded but not remote spot along a farm track. It is off grid, we use solar and 12v batteries to power lights in all the rooms, a USB port and the fridges.  Outside lights are kept to a minimum to preserve the special “Dark Sky” all the better to enjoy stargazing. Please bring power banks or charge your devices in your car as a backup.

Candles are not allowed inside the tent due to fire risk, but can be used outside on the decking areas. 

We use gas for the showers, fridges and kitchen hobs.

**Bedroom**

Our beds have very comfortable new mattresses, duvets and extra blankets and hot water bottles if required.

Beds are made up upon arrival with our luxurous stone-washed natural bed linen with its contempory natural crumpled look. Its made from re-newable flax & boasts anti-allergic properties.

**Kitchen**

The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, standard kichen utensils and cooking pots & pans, kettle & coffee maker, fridge and a two ringed gas hob.

We supply coffee, tea, sugar and other basic condiments. Fresh milk can be found in the fridge. 

**Shower room**

The shower room sits on the back deck and is accessible for wheelchair users with walk in hot shower, raised flushing toilet. Towels are provided for each person staying. Complimentary products from local business Wideye who create their own natural skin and bodycare products.  We support Wideye’s policy not to use single use plastics and  so their products are supplied in refillable glass bottles and soap bars.

New to 2022 is a "Outside Kitchen" with a gas BBQ and "ooni" Pizza oven - great place to cook with friends at the bar.

Wheatfields offers two unique luxury  safari lodges set in a stunning location on the edge of Romney Marsh, close to the historic town of Rye. Offering spacious, en-suite Safari tents that can sleep up to eight people, perfect for families and groups of friends, and the dog who want to spend a special time together enjoying the big outdoors.

The tents are nestled around a pond on our family run 500 acre working arable farm on the edge of Romney Marsh in the Rother Valley. Large deck areas front and back offer alternative sitting options to enjoy the different views across the marsh or towards the stunning ancient cliff of the Isle of Oxney. 

Stonewashed luxury bed linen is supplied on the double beds with lovely cotton linen for the twins and bunks Towels are also supplied. The tents have their own bathrooms with a hot showers, basin and flushing toilet. Complimentary toiletries are supplied by local business  The kitchens are fully equiped and have have gas hob, fridge and all the basic essentials; tea, coffee, milk and cooking seasonings ec. The living areas have large tables for everyone and comfy sofas to relax in front of the log burner complete with small oven. To retain the amazing “Dark Sky” there are no outdoor lights used at Wheatfields. If you love star-gazing this is the place to be. Wheatfields is off-grid with solar lighting & limited USB charging, please bring your own back-up power packs and car chargers.


Skylark is the larger of the tents with three double bedrooms (one can be either a king double of twins). The Bell Tent next to Sandpiper is included in its price and is only available to sandpiper guests. This acts as the third double bedroom.

The Aberdeen Angus bull on Lunsford Farm itself, the trip isn't become missed, because it features introductions towards the Romney ewes and cross-bred cows and calves, and Bertie. Two pubs serving food are close to the site.

The site amenities block has clean toilets and free hot water for showers; a washing-up area is also available for guests’ use.

Non-Electric Grass Pitch 

Are you an aficionado of walks and woodland? Why not stay at Oak Valley Camping if so, as it's surrounded by the woody stuff and has a heap of hiking trails through the woodland and at the nearby lakes. The Pett Level Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short distance away. Oak Valley is a peaceful park welcoming families and kids, away from busy tourist hordes but easily accessible by car to Sussex and its surroundings. There's loads of space here for small sorts (and big sorts) to run around, and a picnic area with tables and a barbecue for sizzling up lunch or dinner. Can't be faffed? The Dogwood Caravan

**Max. 2 Adults, 2 Children under 12**

Reached down a leafy lane lined with Oak trees, the yurt is a 20 foot diameter, felt-lined Ornate Turkmen built from Ash trees sourced from the Glyndebourne Forest and is of a strikingly beautiful construct. It has a 6 foot roof wheel which is great for lighting during the day and on clear nights gives fine views of the stars; it is also possible to partially open up the roof.

There are barn owls, badgers and rabbits for company and the surroundings are usually alive with birdsong, with an amazing morning and dusk chorus. Externally the yurt is surrounded by decking and is separated from the campsite in its own private space including a firepit and picnic table; there is parking very close by. Internally the yurt is decorated in an eclectic but chiefly Tibetan style.

Tucked away amongst ash and willow trees and overlooking a bamboo-lined pond, the Dogwood Cabin is a haven of peace and tranquility.  The cosy, heated pine cabin is decorated in an Eastern-style and has a futon double bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. This fully-insulated retreat has all the modern comforts glampers have come to expect – silent mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a compost loo – but with one unique difference. Nestled in the heart of the High Weald, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the cabin affords glampers the chance to experience a real back-to-nature visit. From the comfort of your cabin, you can just slide open the patio doors and let the birdsong fill the cabin as you watch our resident chickens or visiting ducks waddle past. There is even a suntrap meditation deck for those who enjoy quiet, reflective time. In the mornings you can order breakfast brought straight to your door. And at nights, after a meal at the pub, you can warm yourself with your own fire pit and toast marshmallows while looking out for shooting stars in our noted dark skies.

Rocklands Apartments are set high through to the East Hill with spectacular views on the nation and sea park.
These one and two bedroomed flats are self-contained and fitted to a standard that is high comfortable beds, armchairs and sofas and with everything one would significance of a vacation in Hastings.
The apartments are situated adjacent to our family owned and run caravan that is small with owners only, non-letting, caravans, yet Rocklands is peacefully quiet and relaxing and just a 15 minute walk across the cliff and down, through the lift or the actions, to your Old Town for pubs and restaurants.
Well suited for walking throughout the nationwide nation park and firehills to Pett, Fairlight and Rye or over the coastline to Bexhill as well as Eastbourne or simply relaxing with a glass of wine on the patio or balcony watching the moon shining straight down about the ocean.
We have a no cigarette smoking and no pets policy at Rocklands and only grownups 16 and over can stay static in the apartments.    Each apartment has a kitchen area     (not just tea making facilities).

Lydd Karting is proud to be Kent's premier track that is karting. They provide open practice nearly every weekday, for both owner drivers and arrive and drive customers who've the usage of double engined prokarts for the Seniors, (16+) and a selection of Junior and Cadet karts for younger users, who is able to have a go from just 4 yrs . old!There are age limitations: drivers should be 5 to 7 years of age to participate Bambino karting, 8 to 15 years of age to compete in Juniors, 16 and over to race in senior racers being class.Junior be 125cms (4 legs 2 ins) tall, seniors must certanly be over 140 cms (4 foot 7 inches) tall. All juniors attending the venue should be followed by a parent or appropriate guardian.If you just fancy a blast away in another of the karts along with your friends then they provide 15 minute sessions for a mere £20 and you may have as many goes you aren't restricted regarding the amount of people either, so why perhaps not come and also have a go, everyone else will leave with a grin as you like, and!

Dungeness Beach is definitely for checking out and hiking in the place of lounging or swimming, this is the second shingle development that is largest on earth! a coastline that is aesthetically dramatic great views, but going into the water just isn't advised.The Romney Marshes edge and it has several RSPB hides and plenty of neighborhood wildlife including stoats, marsh frogs, weasels and bats, so it is a fantastic spot to keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife, and can above satisfy those longing for a mini beast safari.There are a few bars and a cafe at the vapor stop (which has public toilets too) which itself runs to Dungeness from Hythe a powerful way to extend your entire day trip!Th Old Lighthouse is often available to site visitors, for details 01797 321300.

THE LIGHTHOUSE REMAINS CLOSED

We are sorry but the Lighthouse at Dungeness remains closed due to public health measures.

The lighthouse is an enclosed space with a single stairway which makes it impossible for us to enforce social distancing.

We will continue to monitor the situation and we very much hope to see you all soon.

The Old Lighthouse

The sandy beach at Greatstone is quite flat and stretches from north to south for over two miles, and is frequently 'washed' by the tide of the English Channel. 

More than anything else, the beach has been the main reason that Greatstone village exists as ever since 'going to the seaside' has been popular people have visited Greatstone.

Greatstone beach has drawn holiday makers from far and wide. It provides safe sea bathing in the haven of Romney Bay and miles of fine sand to build all the castles you want, play beach sports, have a swim in the sea or just laze around.

The fresh winds that often occur in Greatstone, together with the flat sandy beach devoid of groynes, makes the beach popular with a whole range of sports that use the wind.
