The Apedale Valley Light Railway is a volunteer operated measure railway that is slim. We operate trains on a ride that is quick the Apedale Community Country Park. Our trains are appropriate measure that is narrow, that used to function in mines and quarries - big enough become exciting, but small enough to be kid-sized!We utilize both vapor and diesel locomotives. A few of the locos are almost 100 years old! The coaches are replicas of these which our ancestors used to travel to get results on - so no seats that are soft but a lot of oxygen! The trains leave from a station that used to face at Silverdale; in that section, we now have a shop with lots to attention children of all ages.During the year, we've a few activities that are unique are aimed at families - Easter Egg hunts, and (twice a year) the Teddy Bear Outings, when kids with bears can travel free. Don't worry, it generally does not need to be a bear! At Christmas, Santa comes to see us - these trains get very busy, therefore we run an advance scheduling system.The train is obtainable to wheelchair users, since is the shop and also the station area. On special event days, other areas for the site are opened to the public. The majority of such areas are available.
