If you fancy staying somewhere rural, on a farm with horses, alpacas and chickens in sight , yet only 32 minutes by train from central London and the bright lights, then you might like our CL site. We are a small working arable farm growing mainly wheat. We are on an A road – yet the site is set so far back that you can’t hear the sound of traffic as it passes. Currently we have a couple of horses, seven alpacas and a whole host – (well 15!) of free range chickens. Our farmhouse is a two minute walk from the site down a private road and we are always ready for a chat! We have loads of footpaths, some directly from the site so we are popular with dog owners. And if you don' want to take your car or motorhome into local towns, there is a good bus service about ten minutes walk down the main road. As well as London, we are well situated for the famous Duxford Air Imperial War Museum, (25 mins) Hatfield House (30 mins), and the National Trust’s Hatfield Forest (20 mins). Don’t miss out on some of the most beautiful old market towns and villages all around – well worth visiting. We have literature on everything , stashed away in our American mail box on site. Our nearest town is Bishop’s Stortford (2miles) but our nearest supermarket , Tesco, is only just over a mile away. If you fancy London, it is only 32 minutes by fast train from Bishops Stortford station... or Cambridge, 35 minutes from the same station. There is also easy access to either place by motorway or A roads . World famous sculptor Henry Moore’s home is about four miles from us and is open to the public during the summer months. His work is on display in fields around his house and makes for a delightful visit. There is also a good café on site for those who have worked up an appetite! We have three golf courses within 5 miles of us and lake fishing also available nearby. We come on site daily to check and clean everything and answer any questions you might have. We are a Caravan and Motorhome Club site and are only permitted to take current members, We close every October untill March the 1st.
