Sorry No Dogs Swallowholme Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the edge of the village of Bamford in the Hope Valley within the Peak District National Park. The site is within walking distance of Bamford Station and the River Derwent runs alongside the site. Hathersage is only five minutes away by car where there is an outdoor heated swimming pool. We are a small family run site with a well presented shower & toilet block, washing up area & a laundry sink. In addition to the seasonal caravan pitches, we cater for a small number of touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans. We have grass pitches with electric hook-up. The site is fairly flat and local amenities are close by including a 24 hour mini-market. A Public House, The Angler's Rest, The Rest Cafe & Post Office. Recreation Ground with childrens play area are a short walk from the site. Sickleholome Golf Course is only 100 yards across the road. There are two garden centres with cafes within walking distance of the site. Bus stops are close by for buses to Hathersage, Hope and Castleton whilst Edale can be reached by train from Bamford. The River Derwent runs past the site. Trout and grayling fishing is permitted with a current licence. The site has plenty of wildlife including ducks, weasels, rabbits, owls, pheasants and many other species of wild birds. Swallowholme is a great site to use as a walking base. Sorry but dogs are not allowed on site.
