Go Wild Adventures

Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales

This fab site in Carmarthenshire was set up by outdoor activity experts and they’ve picked a pretty good spot on this wooded hill, with views towards the Gower peninsula, the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The expertise extends further, this peaceful hilltop haven has been planted a five-minute drive from the village of St Clears, where there are shops, a pub and a chip shop. With that combo, you could stay forever… Contact the team in advance if you’re up for something adventurous in the surrounding area: they can arrange kayaking, rock climbing, archery and horse riding. Even if you don’t delight in dangling on ropes or galloping through valleys, the helpful proprietors will happily kit you out with a firepit and a first load of wood for free, for your fireside singsongs and your outdoor cookouts. If you're hankering after active antics in easy reach, make the half-hour trip to Heatherton World of Activities: it’s all going on there, from fishing and golf to go-karting, zipwires, paintballing and walking on water.
