Scotlands House Campsite

Bracknell, Warfield, Bracknell Forest, England

Down a private lane and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Berkshire you will find Scotlands House campsite; a lovely family friendly site and peaceful oasis of calm, set over a two and a half acre flat field surrounded by mature trees and a winding stream. One of the big draws of this particular campsite is the superb location; close to many of the fantastic attractions that Berkshire has to offer; Legoland, Windsor Castle, Ascot, Swinley Forest, Harry Potter Warner Brothers studios and both Chessington and Thorpe Parks. Everyone is welcome here - from small tents to large motorhomes, although it is worth noting that the quaint country lane might take a bit of navigating for very large vehicles; never fear however - if you need an extra pair of eyes then the helpful owners are on hand to guide you into the site should you need it! Once into the campsite you will feel a million miles away from the bustle of lively towns and noisy roads; instead you will find a well mown field with all the pitches laid out around the edge, leaving a large grassy area in the middle for games and socialising; it also gives a lovely feeling of open space and freedom. Behind the pitches stand large trees and woodland, so you feel very comfortably nestled into the countryside. The pitches themselves are a spacious 11 metres wide and there is plenty of room between them too, so you’ll have enough room for awnings plus you won’t be too close to your neighbours. The camping field backs onto the local cricket ground, a children's playground and there are also several good dog walks close by. There are no shower blocks or toilets onsite, if you have your own facilities aboard your motor home then great (there is an elsan disposal point), but if not then you can bring your own toilet or hire a portable loo with its own tent from the campsite - although this is dependant on current covid restrictions. There are some electric hook-ups should you want it and drinking water taps too, but otherwise facilities are pared down; this is quiet and rural meadow camping, offering a relaxing break in a great location. And it really is a great location. The Royal County of Berkshire is a truly lovely part of England and very easily accessible from London - about an hour on the train. Aside from all the family friendly attractions right on the doorstep of Scotlands House, there are many local pubs and cafes for excellent meals, pretty villages to visit, very good walking trails to explore and for something a bit different, the nearby Bray Lake offers water sports of all varieties including windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and loads more. Fishing enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with several excellent nearby fishing lakes, and golfers are also well catered for with Sunningdale and Wentworth golf courses within 20 minutes of the campsite. There really is something for everyone here and after a busy day exploring (or possibly broomstick flying and lego building), Scotlands House is the perfect place to wind down, relax and recharge.
