Alwyn and Olive began the family business in Abermule as a Garage serving fuel, repairing vehicles and buying and selling cars. When the property behind the Garage became available they bought their first Park and as it was a ‘Smithy’ they naturally named it Smithy Park. Lifestyles changed, the garage was sold and Westbrook Farm was purchased whilst retaining Smithy Park. Westbrook Farm had access to ½ mile of fishing on the River Teme and in due course fishermen requested caravan and camping pitches alongside so that they could stay for longer, and so The Bestparks Family evolved along with two young boys, Glenn and Wayne.

Smithy is a special place where the River Mule flows into the River Severn, and the Montgomery Canal runs alongside. Mature trees and shrubs give the park a garden like setting along with peace and tranquility. The Park has a friendly, family feel, and is happy to nestle unobtrusively tucked away from the Village at Abermule and yet is only a minutes walk from the local Inns and shop.

An on site Park Warden helps with the day to day running as well as the ground maintenance. Fully heated facilities are available for caravan and camping customers along with a small children’s play area. Holiday Home owners just allow themselves to be enfolded in this blissful park in Mid Wales.
