Lassintullich Lodge is a traditional Scottish country house with self-contained wing (Keepers Cottage) at the foot of Schiehallion, the Fairy Mountain (3,553 ft). Within the grounds are two further cottages (The Stables and Kennel Cottage). Providing self-catering since 1996. The area is renowned for its outstanding natural, untamed beauty (which OUTLANDER fans will be familiar with) and wildlife - red squirrels, pine martens, rare birds including osprey etc., It is an ideal centre for touring and exploring remote glens, castles, gardens and beautiful Perthshire 'Big Tree Country'. Spectacular walking, cycling, golf, fishing, photography, painting and all types of adventurous outdoor activities, either locally or near by, including archery in the village and horse riding at Kenmore. LOCAL AREA Kinloch Rannoch village with places to eat is about 3 miles. It has a grocery and general store/post office, garage (no fuel), cafe and hotels. The small town of Aberfeldy is about 15 miles and Pitlochry about 20 miles. Rannoch Station and Rannoch Moor about 20 miles through the most wonderful scenery.
Accommodation types
- The Stables — The Stables sleeps two. This is a cottage, all on one level, with views over the house garden, grounds and Dunalastair Water. Photographers have found this is the perfect viewpoint to take images of pine martens, squirrels and a huge variety of garden birds. The cottage is ideal for those wishing to have their accommodation on one level with no stairs and provides, entrance hall, room with basin, wc and walk in shower and the added comfort of a heated floor. The open plan living area consists of a fully fitted kitchen, sitting and dining area. The bedroom has a double bed and although perfect for a couple, many single guests have found it an ideal base for a stay in the area. Towels: A £3 per day reduction is made if providing your own. Deposits: £100 per part/full week booked, balance paid 6 weeks before your stay. N.B. Payments not refundable unless we are able to re-let and subject to a £25 administration charge.
- Kennel Cottage — Kennel Cottage sleeps two. A two storey cottage which was converted from part of Lassintullich's outbuildings and now provides a very comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage for couples. With views over the house garden, Dunalastair Water and the mountains beyond. On the ground floor: entrance hall, kitchen/dining area, bathroom with basin, wc and large bath with shower over. On the first floor the accommodation provides one bedroom with a king size bed, cloakroom/wc and a traditionally furnished, cosy sitting room with woodburner overlooking the house garden and grounds. There is an area with a picnic bench with extensive views over the water. Towels: A £3 per day reduction is made if providing your own. - Keepers Cottage — This is a charming, self-contained cottage wing of the main house and is believed to date from the 1840's, retaining many original features. Accommodation is on two levels with an entrance hall, kitchen/dining area, sitting room with wood-burning stove and a characterful bathroom with basin, wc and bath with hand-held shower. On the first floor are two bedrooms - offering a single and king size beds. The cottage has an area of private garden with picnic bench and views across Dunalastair Water to the hills beyond. Towels: A £3 per day reduction is made if providing your own. Deposits: £100 per part/full week booked, balance paid 6 weeks before your stay. N.B.
