Ben and I (Leila) first visited Scotland in 2010 when we holidayed with our dogs on the west coast. This was the beginning of a love affair with the Highlands and we were married on the shores of beautiful Loch Torridon two years later. We decided we would like to make the Highlands our home so began looking for a property where we could also run our own business. After a long search we finally found Craskie Estate in June 2014 and completely uprooted our lives in West Yorkshire two months later! Craskie Estate had been rather neglected for several years, drinking water came from the burn and the access bridge was little more than a causeway with no sides! When we arrived we set about sympathetically renovating the Old Mill and saving the beautiful ruined farmhouse. We also put in a 76m borehole ensuring fresh drinking water all year round and a brand-new bridge over the river.
Accommodation types
- TWIN PODS — Our twin pod is our most compact at 2.5m x 3m and is ideal for travellers on a tighter budget. With two single beds and all the same amenities of our other pods it offers guests exceptional value. Due to it's size our twin pod is not dog friendly.
- FAMILY PODS — Our family pods comfortably sleep four in one double and two single beds topped with 4″ thick foam mattresses. They are very spacious, 5m x 3m, and have a built in wardrobe separating the single beds. Both of our family pods are dog friendly.
- DOUBLE PODS — Our double pod is perfect for couples, a bright spacious double bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. At 4m x 3m this pod provides plenty of space for a romantic and luxurious stay. Our double pod is also dog friendly.
