Our aim is to provide a place for you to relax and enjoy space, peace and quiet in the Highland hills. Run now by Colin and Lauren Grant and by our family since 1935, this unique campsite is surrounded by the picturesque Glengarry mountains and is open from April to October. We have 35 pitches, which are spread over 10 acres (4 hectares), giving each pitch an individual character. EXCLUSIVELY FOR ADULTS (18+) The campsite has 35 pitches, which are spread over 10 acres (4 hectares) and look out onto the Glengarry mountains. Our aim, as a site exclusively for adults, is to give you a peaceful retreat in which to relax, so we guarantee no crowding even in high season. Twelve of the pitches have electric hook-ups (10 amps). Most of the pitches with electric are hard standings (we have two grass pitches with electric hook-ups). Every pitch has its own picnic table and most of the pitches have their own personal space with some secluded areas offering space, peace and quiet. Free WiFi access is available site wide and pets are also welcome but must be kept on a short lead on the campsite. The site is served by a drive over waste water emptying point and a chemical toilet disposal point. A laundry area with, washing machines and tumble driers is available but a time-slot must be reserved to use these. Some of the wildlife you can expect to see (and hear!) on the site includes finches, siskins, blue-tits, swallows, cuckoos, woodpeckers, ducks, wild geese, owls and a resident buzzard. Also plentiful are butterflies, dragonflies, wild bees, bumble bees, beetles, frogs, lizards and a variety of carp and goldfish in the pond. Very occasional larger visitors include an otter, pine martins (very shy), mountain hare, roe deer and red deer. Run by our family since 1935, and where the Grants have lived since 1868, this unique site is surrounded by the picturesque Glengarry mountains. Nearby Attractions Faichemard Farm is situated midway along the Great Glen just northwest of the small village of Invergarry in the highlands of Scotland. The farm looks out at one of the many mountains of the area - Ben Tee - and looks westward along Glen Garry from its easternmost end. Some of the places within easy travelling distance include: Fort Augustus for the Caledonian Canal, or Loch Ness and the monster! Urquhart Castle at Drumnadrochit; Culloden Battlefield near Inverness; Eilan Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye; The Brochs at Glenelg; the Treasures of the Earth near Fort William and the Sands of Morar on the way to Mallaig.
