Our CL is peaceful and situated on our 100 acre farm. It is lawned and spacious with a hard road round. All pitches have hard-standings, electric hook-ups and space for awnings: some are slightly sloping. There is night-lighting. Apart from the waste disposal, tap water and bins area, for Motor homes there is a separate waste disposal point and tap beside the road for ease of use. A Tourist Information Kiosk is stocked with comprehensive information. A bus stops at the gate to Chesterfield or Bakewell in the opposite direction. Adults, children and dogs are welcome. The local pub/restaurant is within walking distance and is noted locally for its good food and reasonable prices. Shops/supermarket -2 miles; Chemist - 1 mile; Doctor - 1 mile; Vet - 2 mile; Chesterfield Queen’s Park and Leisure Centre -3 miles; Theatres/Cinema -3 miles. Separate, and away from the site, are our two self-catering Holiday Cottages. Both are graded 4* and have Category 1 Disabled. Walks directly from the site across wildflower meadows lead to the beautiful Linacre Valley with its three reservoirs and nature trails. The CL is perfect for venturing forth into the magnificent Peak District. It is approx. 3 miles from the breathtaking Curbar Edge; 5 miles from the lovely Longshaw Estate, etc, - the list goes on.. Nearby are the market towns of Chesterfield and Bakewell. Chesterfield with its crooked spire Church, three markets per week, quaint alleyways, theatres, and a restored Canal which runs boat trip. Bakewell is noted for its original Bakewell Pudding shop, cattle market, river scenes, etc. A few miles from the CL is Chatsworth, home of the Duke of Devonshire and a joy to many tourists. there is so much to do or simply relax in peace, watch the wildlife and listen to the birdsong!
