Lynmouth Holiday Retreat is set in a truly picturesque part of the country; the Exmoor National Park. Surrounded by undulating countryside and stunning, scenic, sea views, wherever you are on the park you can admire the beauty of nature from your tent or caravan. Our park has maintained its family-owned feel throughout the years and ownerships which is something that we are proud to maintain and build upon moving into new seasons. Hiding high up amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor and nuzzling the dramatic cliffscape of the North Devon coastline, Lynmouth Holiday retreat settles into the extraordinary backdrop overlooking Lynmouth bay and the gentle buzz of its harbourside town. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking to own your own holiday home on site to visit whenever you desire, it’s the perfect place to get away and reset amongst the expansive countryside of Exmoor. The town of Lynmouth went from a tiny fishing village to a thriving Victorian tourist resort dubbed ‘Little Switzerland due to its rolling hills, sheer cliffs and cascading rivers. Whilst the World around may be ever changing, both Lynton & Lynmouth retain their vintage charm, frozen in the reminiscence of an earlier time, the towns are separated by the highest water powered funicular railway in the World and adjoin the infamous craggy cliffs of The Valley of Rocks. If the surrounding area was anything to go by, the Retreat itself will certainly not disappoint, with its own dog walking meadow, abundant flora and fauna, spell binding bay views and the South West Coast path sat right on your doorstep, this Coast and Country Park offers an idyllic trip back to nature and simpler times. With its quaint meandering roads, lack of large supermarkets, enchanting hillside valleys and snippets of Victorian trinkets in the way of old cast iron street lamps and red post-boxes, (now turned into lending libraries), Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, like the surrounding area celebrates its enchanting history, natural beauty and varied landscapes at the very heart of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Accommodation types
- Countisbury Pod — For those wanting to switch off and embrace the stunning, spectacular, surroundings and natural environment, or those new to camping that want to get out into the great outdoors, with a few home comforts our pet friendly Countisbury Glamping pod could be just what you are hoping for. Our wooden, fully insulated and heated pods, provide a comfortable alternative to being under canvas. The Pod has a double bed and a sofa bed, tea / coffee making facilities and small fridge. All linen, duvets and pillows will be provided. Please note we do not provide towels. Our toilet and shower facilities are available, however, please bring all your own camping equipment and towels. You are welcome to bring your own BBQ (bricks are provided to raise these off the ground) as well as any other camping equipment needed to ensure you have a wonderful break. Each pod has an outside seating area where you can sit and take in the views or enjoy a meal in a wonderful setting. Fire pits and open fires are forbidden on our park. *A sofa bed suitable for 1 small child can be made available within our pods upon request. There is a parking space next to the pod. - Watersmeet Pod — For those wanting to switch off and embrace the stunning, spectacular, surroundings and natural environment, or those new to camping that want to get out into the great outdoors, with a few home comforts our Glamping pods could be just what you are hoping for. - The View | Grass, Super Serviced Touring & Motorhomes — As the name suggests, pitches on The View benefit from spectacular views in all directions. The undulating green hills and stunning sea views really are breath taking. These pitches are grass and super serviced with Electric, water and grey waste on each pitch. Approx. size is 8M X10M The facilities block is a minute walk away, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use. Fire pits, open fires and gazebos are forbidden on our park, being high up on Exmoor national park this is a necessity, however you are most welcome to bring a BBQ, we provide bricks so these can be raised off the ground. - Rabbit Field | Hardstanding, Electric Campervans, Touring & Motorhomes — Our Rabbit field hardstanding pitches offer unending views over the stunning hills and valleys. These pitches have electric hook up and are approx. 8M X 8M. These pitches are close to reception and the facilities block is a minute walk away, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use. Fire pits, open fires and gazebos are forbidden on our park, being high up on Exmoor national park this is a necessity, however you are most welcome to bring a BBQ, we provide bricks so these can be raised off the ground. - Beggars Field | Hardstanding, Serviced Touring & Motorhomes — Our Beggars field hardstanding pitches offer water and electric. Pitch size is approximately 10M X 9M. Wherever you are on this field you are encircled by the most stunning scenery, the rolling hills of the countryside lend themselves beautifully to an escape from day to day life. The facilities block is at the entrance to this field, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use. Fire pits, open fires and gazebos are forbidden on our park, being high up on Exmoor national park this is a necessity, however you are most welcome to bring a BBQ, we provide bricks so these can be raised off the ground. - Valley View | Non-electric Camping & Campervans — Valley View is our camping field surrounded by beautiful green landscapes. This field doesn’t have numbered pitches, so you are free to choose your preferred spot. We keep numbers to a minimum, ensuring plenty of room for all. This is a non-electric camping field, this is the field for a true great outdoors experience. You’ll find our facilities a very short walk away, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use. Fire pits, open fires and gazebos are forbidden on our park, being high up on Exmoor national park this is a necessity, however you are most welcome to bring a BBQ, we provide bricks so these can be raised off the ground. - Bay View | Grass, Electric Camping & Campervans — Bay View, so called as you have the most magnificent views from this field, in one direction beautiful views of the sea, across the channel to Wales and in the other, green, idyllic landscapes. These pitches have electric hook up and are approx. 10M X 10M. The facilities block is a 2 minute walk away, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use. Fire pits, open fires and gazebos are forbidden on our park, being high up on Exmoor national park this is a necessity, however you are most welcome to bring a BBQ, we provide bricks so these can be raised off the ground.
