Bring your own camping gear or take it easy in a log cabin or quirky comfy horse lorry - whichever option you go for, views over the Preseli Hills come as standard. North Lodge is a smallholding in a gorgeously remote part of Pembrokeshire, yet only ten minutes from lots of good beaches, the coastal path and things to do. Ideal for family holidays, walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists, or couples just looking to escape into the country. The pitches, cabins and lorry are laid out with long grass and hedge areas for minimum overcrowding and maximum privacy. Group bookings are welcome; and canine campers can come along too. - Preseli Log Cabin — Off the grid cabin experience, close to nature, a truly great getaway from our techy world. The cabin sleeps up to 4, (a fifth can sleep on a camping mattress), It has its own woodburner, a double bed and two singles, great views across the countryside and hills. Set on the edge of the field, the sunniest spot on the site. Over the last couple of years this unique cabin, once a drumming studio, has been refurbished, with new cladding, lots of work, including a large new porch area to sit and look at the views, or cook undercover. The log cabin is very well insulated so warm in winter and cool in summer, it has been re clad with local timber and the recycled furniture is high quality and comfortable (apart from new high grade mattresses). There’s a three piece cottage suite to sit and relax being warmed by the log fire. Also a solar pv lighting system so off the grid means you are not left in the dark…It now has a separate kitchen area to prep and keep all your food, but as your on holiday you can always order a takeaway, Indian, kebab or pizza? The cabin overlooks the Preselli Mountains which over to the West join the sea and the famous Pembrokeshire coast. There’s not only unspoilt countryside or beaches for walking or just enjoying, there’s lots to do including dolphin and seal spotting, horse riding, coasteering, or just mooching around local towns including the historic Cardigan market town and Castle.
- The Horse Lorry - Rumenco — Designed for two it has its own kitchen, dining and bedroom areas, also toilet. The wood burning stove makes it ideal for romantic retreats and winter breaks alike. It has all the comforts with a solar powered lighting system and small gas stove. The shower is a walk away through the small wooded lane. The outside seating area is snuggled between the horsebox and a wildlife area with pond. There is also an outside firepit and BBQ stove. Pets are welcome on our site, however please note that only one dog in lorry and only allowed in the porch area. North Lodge is sited on a south facing gentle slope overlooking the beautiful Preselli Hills of the Pembrokeshire National Coast Park. We have 4.5 acres for visitors to enjoy. There is plenty to do in the area all year round and we offer short weekend or long stay breaks, throughout the seasons, including a Christmas winter retreat. Close by there are woodland, hill, and coastal walks, beaches, cycle routes, water and horse riding activities. Near to Cardigan Bay, for dolphin and seal trips, and Newport for fine dining and views... Lots of attractions and things to do: Castle Henllys medieval village, Wales Wildlife Centre, Cenarth Falls and Coracle Centre, Shire Horse Farm, Boat trips and kayaking, Castles and standing stones, events and festivals right through the year.
- Eco Camping — There are campfires and BBQ's in the centre of the site. We offer usual facilities of site toilets, shower, and washing area. An indoor room with light teas is also available. Pets (must have up to date vaccinations), - dogs welcome there is a separate area to walk your dog. Cyclists welcome there are plenty of lanes and hills as well as the coastal area to try out your skills, whilst enjoying the views. Groups - we welcome group bookings.
- Damson Log Cabin — North Lodges, cabin in the old orchard, its own private space. Off the grid cabin experience, a great holiday retreat, after exploring the beautiful North Pembrokeshire area come back for a warm and relaxing night. The cabin sleeps up to 4, (a fifth can sleep on a camping mattress), It has its own woodburner, a double bed and daybed that extends for a double/two singles, great views across the countryside and the Preseli Mountains. Following on from the success of Preseli Cabin, the damson cabin idea started with the great winds of 2013/14 when one of the only remaining trees in the orchard a damson tree was felled by the wind, why not put a cabin in its place? Since its erection in early February 2014, this ex display rather tired leaky cabin has been lovingly restored and weatherproofed, using local or sustainable products and furniture, including a beautiful vintage bed. Decorated with colours reflecting calm and relaxation, out of the two cabins it has been described by visitors as the more romantic. But it also lends itself to groups with the non campers staying in the cabin whilst their camping friends pitch up in the orchard. The cabin also has a firepit and its own kitchen for food preparation and cooking undercover.
