The Trooper Inn has been at the heart of Stourton Caundle village life for hundreds of years. Our independent, family-run pub is popular with locals and visitors alike – and dogs and horses too! We became the proud new owners of The Trooper Inn in December 2019. During the first lockdown, we made use of the time by expanding the outdoor seating area and giving the pub a fresh look, while retaining its charming atmosphere. We now have a beautiful courtyard to the rear of the pub and an expanded beer garden to the side, both with marquees, as well as the seating to the front where you can watch the world go by – tractors, dog-walkers and may be a car. Steeped in history, in the heart of the Blackmore Vale, this is a wonderful region to explore and we are close to the ancient market towns of Sherborne and Sturminster Newton and the borders of Somerset and Wiltshire.
