Brand new in July 2022, Ty Mynydd is Welsh for "Mountain House" - because it's got a great view of Moel Famau. Ty Mynydd sits proudly in the top corner of our glamping field. It is a thrilling space that is exciting for families and kids and super romantic for couples. It is comfortably equipped with everything you need for a great glamping break. Inside it has a double bed and a double sofa bed - and can sleep 2 adults and 3 childen (with an addiitonal campbed). It has a dresser with bowls, plates, cutlery and utensils, a small fridge, dining table and four chairs. It has a it's own compost toilet cubicle and washbasin behind the tipi, and a hot shower cubicle that is open to the sky (a great showering experience!) about 25m away. Outside it has a large raised decking area, table, chairs, a cold water tap, a BBQ/oven and a firepit with tripod for an alternative cooking experience.Further down the field (approx 50m) is our Field Kitchen with gas hob, sink and food preparation areas, along with a large picnic table and benches. Being "off-grid" all power/lighting is 12v solar, and the toilet is a compost toilet.
People come here for the stunning sunsets, starry skies, glorious views and peaceful nature. They leave with happy memories and a hankering to return.
We provide comfortable off-grid glamping holidays and short breaks, in glamping pods and tipis nestled on the slopes of Hope Mountain in the beautiful North Wales borders countryside.
We have created our glamping field from a meadow our cows used to graze. We leave parts of the grass long, and leave wide hedgerows so that there is an abundance of native grasses, wild flowers and habitats for wildife. We want you to have a comfortable time here - but with a real "back to nature" experience.
We have placed our accommodation sympathetically within this sloping landscape, close to the woods or hedges. This minimises the visual impact and maxmimises guests' privacy.
The 2 acre field has just 2 wooden glamping pods and one tipi - so there is plenty of space for everybody. The pods are en-suite and there is a shower and toilet shack close to the tipi.
The shower has no roof - we call it our The Sky's the Limit Shower. Showering under the trees and the sky is a wonderful experience everyone should try whilst they are here.
Also in the field is our amazing Field Kitchen - with gas hob and sink and lots of food prep space. This is where we keep spare supplies of firewood, charcoal and marshmallows so you never have to worry about running out.
Washing up in the field kitchen or eating at the tables nearby means you get to do it whilst looking at the amazing views of Moel Famau the tallest of the Clwydian Hills range.
Finally, in the centre of the glamping field is our sustainable grey-water Reed Bed and pond. This takes all of the water from the sinks and showers and urine from our compost toilets and turns it into lovely fresh water for the pond.
We have designed all of our facilities to be as sustainable as we possibly can - including solar power and compost toilets, because your holiday here should be comfortable but it shouldn't cost the earth.
