Relax with us at our dog friendly caravan and campsite in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk countryside at Darsham. Set in 30 acres of meadows and lakes we offer 50 spacious pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes in addition to seasonal pitches. Whether you enjoy walking, bird and wildlife watching, cycling, fishing or just sitting down with a good book in the peace and quiet, our award winning family run site is only a couple of hours drive from London and is conveniently placed for a relaxing break of any length. On site we have two fishing lakes, a wildlife area with scrape and extensive dogwalks. The site is adjacent to Suffolk Wildlife Trust Darsham Marshes Nature Reserve and we have worked with our neighbours to create new permissive paths to link up with established public footpaths allowing you to explore the countryside away from main roads. There are plenty of places of interest locally. RSPB Minsmere, and NT Dunwich Heath are a few miles away and a short drive will bring you to the coastal towns of Southwold with its iconic pier, beach huts and lighthouse and Aldeburgh home to the Aldeburgh Festival and Benjamin Britten. Most places are very dog friendly with plenty of places to walk, shop and eat accompanied by your faithful hound. Lovers of history and industrial heritage can easily explore the castles of Framlingham and Orford and the Transport and Long shop Museums at Leiston and Carlton Colville Lowestoft. Visit the suffolk coast area and go to a market, festival, show or arts event. There is always plenty of local events that will entertain you what ever your interest or age. We also offer summer storage. If you no longer want to tow but want to holiday in the countryside take advantage of our summer store and stay, just store your van here, book your pitch with us and it will be ready out on the pitch for you when you arrive. Just hook up the electricity, put the steadies down, put the kettle on and relax. We have been awarded the Good to Go certificate which is awarded by Visit England to venues who have met the standard and put in place procedures to provide a COVID secure environment for our visitors. NEW FOR 2021 ON SITE TAKE AWAY The Silver Fox takeaway cafe is now open operating from our vintage airstream catering wagon. Opening times vary during the season. Currently Thursday, Friday and Saturday 5pm to 8pm for take away and 9am to 12 noon Saturday and Sunday for breakfast. You will find peace and quiet here along with panoramic views and stunning sunsets. We are only just over two hours drive from North London and the perfect place for a get-away-from-it-all relaxing break of any length. We have good disabled access to our wetrooms and specially built accessible fishing platform. Contact us directly to book a pitch near to the facilities, subject to availability. There are many miles of walks and cycle rides in the area with a good choice of traditional local pubs to refresh yourself en route where you're guaranteed to be met with a friendly welcome and a tempting menu. Back at the campsite you'll find friendly, helpful staff who are only too happy to answer your queries and supply you with any local information you may need. In the Laundry room you will find a token operated washing machine and tumble drier. There are grass and hard standing pitches which are available for touring caravans and motorhomes. There are pitches with or without electric hook up and fresh water taps close by. A motor home service point is also available. The site has 2 immaculate toilet/shower blocks, each with it's own disabled access toilet/shower room. Dish washing facilities are available. For the anglers there are two fishing lakes stocked with Carp, Bream and Roach etc. Tickets can be purchased at reception for day fishing. There are a limited number of pegs suitable for over night fishing which can be booked at reception. For our 4 legged campers we have 2 designated dog walk areas with meandering pathways and plenty of exciting things to sniff at. Public and permissive footpaths can be accessed on foot from the site, leading on to a network of quiet lanes and walks. We are directly opposite, and a short walk from, Suffolk Wildlife Trust Darsham Marshes nature reserve and we are actively involved in projects to enhance the environment for wildlife. We are particularly pleased that Turtle Dove, which are an endangered species regularly return during the summer to nest. Please note that we do have a quiet between 9pm and 9am policy. Nearby Attractions We are ideally situated just 2 1/2 miles from the RSPB's flagship reserve at Minsmere and only a short drive from the ever popular coastal towns of Southwold with it's iconic white lighthouse and the home of Adnams Brewery, Aldeburgh, famous for it's Fish & Chips and Thorpeness with its quirky buildings including the House in the Clouds. The remains of the 13th century town of Dunwich is also only 3 miles away. In less than 30 minutes you can be transported back in time at Framlingham Castle, built in the 12th Century and a refuge for Mary Tudor in 1583 or Orford Castle built by Henry II in the 12th Century and the home of an undisturbed 1300 year old Anglo Saxon Royal Ship Burial at Sutton Hoo.
