Life in the bustling fishing town of Brixham centres around the picturesque harbour, with fishing boats bringing their catch to the famous Fish Market.  Fishstock - the English Riviera's renowned urban music and seafood festival - takes place annually at the new Fish Quay on Brixham's harbour.   Book one of the many boat trips across the bay, including wildlife "sea-faris" where you could spot dolphins and porpoise or fishing trips in beautifully restored heritage sailing vessels. On land, discover a full-size replica of the Golden Hind, the ship belonging to Francis Drake - who lived and worked in Brixham - and find out more about Brixham's maritime past at the free-entry Heritage Museum. If this is too energetic, take a relaxing dip in Shoalstone pool, the iconic Art Deco seawater lido and enjoy a meal or a cream tea at one of the many local cafes, restaurants and pubs, facing the waterfront.
