Essex is a county in Southeast England lying between London and the North Sea. Colchester - the oldest town in England - was once the capital of Roman Britain and is a city steeped in history and interesting things to see and do. The Castle, build in the 11th Century is now home to a museum, full of interactive exhibits and history about the city. The lovely gardens of Castle Park are also well worth a visit.
