Fowey on the south west coast of Cornwall is a very popular tourist area for good reason; it is stunningly beautiful with both the river, the sea and countless tributaries and creeks running through it. A great way to explore is to hire a small boat and drive yourself through the winding river trails. The port has an interesting maritime history to uncover and was also famously home to Daphne du Maurier. Every year Fowey plays host to the du Maurier festival which is a very popular festival of arts and literature.
