The Lodge House Callander

Laggan View is the latest addition to our self catering and bed and breakfast properties. It is a chalet style holiday home with two outdoor seating/eating places and it’s own parking place.

 

It has two bedrooms; one double and one twin. The twin beds are suitable for children and teenagers, but if booking for 4 adults please let us know as we can put the singles together to form another double bed. The lounge is open plan with a kitchen and dining area. The kitchen comes fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans etc. Toaster, microwave, and let’s not forget the all important nespresso coffee machine

 

In addition to the seating areas, guests are also welcome to use our large walled garden, especially good as a play area for kids.

 

Whilst it is self catering, for those who wish to do so breakfast and evening meals can be ordered from the main farmhouse.

Callander Meadows B&B Callander, is a household that is comfortable establishment, located in Scotlands First nationwide Park. This city that is beautiful built around 1800 is filled with charm and character retaining numerous features All rooms at our Callander B&B are comfortably embellished and gives en-suite bathrooms with complementary toiletries. CAN ONLY BE BOOKED IN ADDITION TO THE LODGE

The Bothy - is attached to the Lodge by a covered walk way and is all on one level.  Upon entering the main door you will come into a hallway where the large shower room will be on your left. Further down the hall, the next door on the left is the King Size bedroom, with bedside tables and and open hanging unit for clothes on the wall.  Continue down the hall and you will enter the open plan kitchen/diner/lounge.  Everything in the Bothy is new, as it is newly converted.  The kitchen is fully equipped, with a 70/30 fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave, gas hob, and a washer/dryer.  There is a glass round dining table for 4 and a corner sofa bed. You will also be able to watch a 42" smart TV and next to that is a log burner.  At the end of this spacious room are patio doors which will take you out onto a driveway and into the garden.

Additional Bothy

The Lodge - split over a ground and 1st floor, the lodge can sleep 10/11 in 5 bedrooms. On the ground floor as you enter the property through the main door, one of three entrance doors, you will find the newly fitted open plan kitchen just off a little hall, with a Stoves range style cooker which has electric ovens and grill and a 7 gas burner hob.  There is also an American fridge/freezer, Nespresso machine, microwave, cake mixer and everything else you can possibly think of that you would need.  A small supply of basic cooking ingredients are provided to get you started, until you have time to get to the supermarket and a welcome hamper.
 
The kitchen faces onto the large dining room with Scottish stone chimney breast with log burner and 42" Smart TV, and 8 patio doors that open up to the garden.  There is ample seating in this room for 16 plus people as both the white glass top tables extend.

Upon entering the property through one of the three doors you will find an additional large hall where the Danfoss ground source heating system is stored.  A shower room with toilet is also located in this hall and a utility room with washer/dryer and sink.

Continue through the hall to a smaller hall where you will see the glass panelled staircase which takes you to the second floor.  Down the hall you will find 3 bedrooms. One King/Twin room, with integrated wardrobe and shelves, which can use the shower/toilet in the large hall or share a further shower/WC with the 2nd bedroom which is a Super King/Twin room.  The third bedroom is a Super King/Twin also and it has it's own en-suite shower room.  All 3 rooms have patio doors that open onto the garden. The en-suite Super King has 2 patio doors. All Super King Rooms can be split to twins if requested.

The first floor can be accessed from the dining room or the little hall in the other wing on the house. Both stair cases are glass panelled with the one off the dining room being very wide and open.  This one takes you up to the large open plan lounge with floor to ceiling windows.  You really feel like you are sitting amongst the trees.   The lounge has ample soft seating for all staying in the house and has a chimney breast with log burner and a 52" Smart TV. 
 
From the lounge you can access the Master bedroom/Super King room with en-suite.  This room is the WOW room with the gable end of the building being all glass, a mirror image of the lounge gable end, with it's stone chimney breast with log burner.  The views over the estate are amazing. You will see our tenant sheep and our deer when the rut is on.   We get a stag in August this year so that will be exciting to see.  The en-suite to this room has a very large walk-in shower, free standing bath and double sinks.  From this room you can access the twin room and further glass panneled stair case.  In the hall there is plenty space to hang and put away your clothes, shared with the twin room which is accessed from the top of this stair case.
 
The twin room is a dedicated twin room so can not be used as a super king.  It has an newly fitted en-suite with toilet, sink and free standing bath.

The Lodge



Tucked away between Thornhill and Callander in Scotland, nestled in 188-acres of private woodland and grazing pasture, the Lodge and the Bothy, which sleep 11-15 adults/family, are the perfect haven to escape the madness of the modern world, gather with friends and family for a dinner party, celebration, or simply just to chill out and enjoy much needed time together.  
The Lodge and Bothy are a unique blend of Scots/Nordic architecture and design, apparent from it’s traditional vernacular silhouette, Scots stone and Scandinavian open plan layout, sliding floor to ceiling windows, which allows light to flood in and radiate comfort.  The Danish Dinesen Douglas Fir flooring creates a cool warmth and is toasty on the toes with or without the underfloor heating, which is throughout the property.  

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and want, with a range style cooker. Enjoy the fruits of your labour in the large dining room with a log burning fire, it’s the perfect cosy environment to toast the evening and have some fun. Step outside onto the patio, which surrounds the Lodge, and enjoy your breakfast al fresco, and say good morning to the wildlife. Afterwards take a stroll down to the loch, through the woods, or wander through the Christmas trees (wellington boots required), go and say hello to the resident sheep or deer that Alick farms. You might even see him with his 6 working sheep dogs Patch, Moss and Ben, Kim, Tess, and Meg.  Due to the elevated position of the estate, at the end of every wee walk you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Ben Ledi, Ben Lomond, Ben Venue, Ben Vorlich the Campsie Fells or the Gargunnock hills. The views are truly epic and you forget that you are not far from civilisation but yet feel completely secluded, immersed in nature and tranquillity.
 
If you fancy going further afield, Callander, the Trossachs and Loch Lomond are all just minutes away on the doorstep, or do some sight seeing in nearby Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth.  When you get back, soak away any aches and pains in the hot tub, If you want to have a more rustic meal, venture across the garden and get the wood burning on the bespoke built Pizza Oven and BBQ where there is plenty room for a banquet to be cooked over the flames.

Infants and small children - there are 2 travel cots available which are stored in the boiler cupboard and a camp bed which is adult size but best suited to children.  The Super King/Twin e-suite, Master bedroom and the bothy lounge are best for these beds.  Although if the King room is being used for 2 children the camp bed is often put in there by guests.  The small staircase has 2 permanent material retractable stair gates and the main stair gate has a portable stair gate which metal gate.
