The Walled Garden is a beautiful five-acre landscaped formal garden situated in Moreton, Dorset. With on site café, garden shop (including a huge range of plants for sale), children’s play park, and animal rescue centre, The Walled Garden also offers FREE ENTRY and FREE PARKING. We are the perfect day out in Dorset. Explore the gardens solo, or with friends, and stop by the Dovecote Café for delicious homemade food, fresh cakes, pasties and more! We also host regular seasonal and unique events from garden trails for children, crafts, fetes, yoga, open air art exhibitions, and more! However we offer such a variety of things to do within the gardens and the Moreton Estate, that many campers lose themselves in the enchantment of the venue. We offer a fantastic kids play area with plenty of seating for adults, conveniently located next to the farm animals & Kitchen Garden, giving you panoramic supervising vision - A MUST AT ALL TIMES!! Not only are the grounds are one of the most tranquil within the County, but steeped in history with links to T E Lawrence, one of Britain's finest war hero's, an Oxford Scholar & Close friend of Winston Churchill..better known to most as Lawrence of Arabia, who now rests in the village's peaceful cemetery of St Nicholas' Church (regardless of your religion or spiritual beliefs - this is a must see just for its fine architecture and beautiful stain glassed windows). The scenic village of Moreton, a tranquil site in the very heart of Dorset, offers a labyrinth of walks, adjacent to Moreton's Walled Garden, cafe, riding centre and woodland (with guests having unlimited access to the grounds/play area), ensuring that you have a rural but perfectly placed location for all local attractions, amenities & good pubs, including The Seven Stars (*), The Frampton Arms, The Countryman, The Red Lion (*), The Wise Man, & The Black Dog (*) to name a few (* Kids Play areas) If you don't fancy the 15 minute drive to the World Famous Jurassic Coast for a dip, then simply walk 2 minutes to the village Ford - Dorset's biggest Ford, for a cooling off and fun for all the family. Moreton has the main Weymouth - Waterloo line running through so has fantastic access to many towns including Dorchester (1 stop) & Weymouth (2 stops) so if you want to visit the many museum's, Brewery Square or even Prince Charles very own Poundbury (Duchy Of Cornwall) - its all to be enjoyed in Dorset's County Town. Weymouth has the sandy award winning Blue Flag beach, although parking can be difficult during peak seasons, so we recommend using the train. If the coast isn't for you, then pop over to nearby Corfe Castle & The Swanage Steam Train, or simply take in the beautiful labyrinth of walks surrounding the campsite or adventure through Moreton Woods. Our maturer campers may remember the popular Tv series "Tenko" which was filmed in woodland just behind the site. Our staff are friendly with a relaxed approach to ensure that your camping experience is one that will want you to return and recommend to others.
