Campsite guests are welcome to explore the farm and meet our sheep, ponies and chickens. There are plenty of outdoor play areas, and table tennis, skittles and a pool table in our games barn. Wi-Fi is available across the site.

Our family room is comfortable and is equipped with  tea & coffee making facilities. All our bedrooms are en-suite and central heated. This room has a knig sized double bed a single bed and a trundle bed , there is also a travel cot if required.

Farm House B & B Family Room

The Old Byre self-catering holiday cottage at Rye Hill Farm is part of a small, 300-year-old, family run sheep farm, with stunning views across the Tyne Valley. The Old Byre is attached to the farmhouse and has its own entrance. It was originally the milking byres but is now a beautiful stone-built holiday cottage sleeping up to 7 plus a baby in cot. The farm is just outside the village of Slaley and 5 miles south of Hexham, deep in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland countryside and is within the North Pennines AONB and is close to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. Our holiday cottage is ideally placed for visiting Hexham, Corbridge and Slaley Hall, Hadrian's Wall UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for walking or cycling across Blanchland Moor or beside Devil's Water river and in Kielder Forest or across the North Pennines.


Kitchen
The holiday cottage kitchen is very well equipped with cooking utensils, a dual fuel cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave. Enjoy family dining on our long sycamore farmhouse table which was made for us 40 years ago out of the bread counters at the Hexham Bakery. Next door is a laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities.  If you prefer to eat out, then lunches and evening meals can be had from The Travellers Rest pub on the B6306 or the Rose and Crown pub in nearby Slaley. And of course, there is a wide choice of restaurants and takeaways in Hexham and Corbridge.

Lounge
The cottage with its underfloor heating, is wonderfully cosy no matter what the weather. Heating and electricity are included in the tariff. There are two comfy 3 seater sofas and two high armchairs  for relaxing in and free Wi-Fi, books, board games and a flat screen tv. The sitting room leads out onto a fenced patio, safe for little ones and dogs, and great for sitting out in the sunshine and watching the goings on in the farmyard.

Children
Children are very welcome at the Old Byre holiday cottage. We have a high chair and travel cot available for our tiny guests. They are welcome to explore the farm with adult supervision and use our outside play facilities, which include The Mud Pie Kitchen and the Games Barn which has a skittle alley, table tennis and a pool table

Pets
The Old Byre holiday cottage is dog friendly and pets are welcomed, and we don’t charge extra. We only ask two things of you. The first is that your dog is kept on its lead while out and about on the farm. Rye Hill Farm is a working sheep farm (plus our neighbours also have sheep) and we have free range chickens that can pop up anywhere. The second ask is that dog poop is bagged and placed in the bins provided. This keeps grass and tracks pleasant for everyone staying on the farm.

Hidden away on Rye Hill Farm near Hexham, is one of the most secluded, small campsites in Northumberland - guests have described it as "our secret" and "a gem”.  If you’re looking for a peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings, then you’ll love our campsite. It’s ideal for children and adults who enjoy country life and you can explore our working farm with its sheep, ponies and free-range chickens.
Our farm is in Slaley near Hexham, deep in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland countryside and, is within the North Pennines AONB and, is close to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. Our campsite is ideally placed for visiting Slaley Hall, Hadrian's Wall UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hexham and Corbridge, and for walking and cycling on the North Pennine Moors AONB and in Kielder Forest.

We have a small field area, specifically allocated to camping and caravanning. It is a well-maintained grassy campsite - quiet and level with access via a tarmacked lane. It is sheltered by mature beech trees to the west and surrounded by open farm land enabling campers to appreciate the grand panoramic views of Northumberland.
Camping on this grassy site is weather dependant and because it is small, numbers are restricted. It is best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

- From the wrap around deck you can dine alfresco or soak in the hot tub, surrounded by breath taking scenery and at night time star gaze under dark skies.  
- Executive has a double cabin bed to the rear, kitchenette, en suite and double sofa bed in the living area with a wood burning stove.

- Hadrian has a rustic charm yet is bright and airy, with tones of Heather it's designed to  reflect the surrounding moorland, from where the native birds such as Curlews and Lapwings can be heard. 
- Hadrian has a double bed, double sofa bed and mezzanine , en suite facilities and kitchenette.
- The living area is perfect to snuggle up after a fun packed day out and perhaps play one of the provided board games.
- Alternately you can dine alfresco or soak in the hot tub on the wrap around decked terrace, enjoying 360 Panoramic Views.

Countryman

Watch the sun rise and fall, listen to nature and the unmistakable cry of the Curlew and Lapwing, watch the farm animals, allow children to experience freedom, dine alfresco and soak away your aches and pains under the stars, all from comfort of your pod.
Make aquantainces with our animals, feed the pigs (Snuffles and Sprout) chickens and ducks. Watch lambs skip in the sun and horses grazing peacefully.
Situated virtually at the centre of Britain you are perfectly sited to explore Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Closer to home is the lovely market Town of Hexham and with in walking distance Allendale, recently voted by The Times Britains second best village to live in.
All our pods are fully serviced to the same high standard offering ensuite facilities, equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge, kettle toaster etc. The double bed has a 2000 spring silent night mattress to ensure a good nights sleep and the sofa bed has a full double sized mattress .The sofa allows six people to sit comfortably as does the table and chairs the decor and layout between the pods may vary they all offer the same level of comfort and luxury.
All have electric heating and log burning stoves to ensure you are warm any time of year.

Panoramic Pods

Whatever you choose to fill your days with, you’ll be coming back to a peaceful site where the pitches are pleasingly spacious and have access to mains water, chemical disposal and electric hookups. Dogs are welcome too, and barbecues are permitted on site. There are also a couple of pubs about 15 minutes’ drive away if you fancy eating out.

Elf Hills Farm in rural Northumberland is a small place with just a handful of pitches on site, but well-located. Historic estates, castles, Roman walls and miles of spectacular Northumberland countryside… that’s some of what’s in store nearby when you put down roots at Elf Hills. 

Near the village of Cambo, this site is in a fine spot for days of walking, either in the nearby Northumberland National Park, in the area around Kielder Water or over at the coast (you can’t go wrong with any choice, really).

The Clart About Sensory Cafe offers a relaxing and enjoyable space for children of all abilities, ranging from birth to 8 years old, to experience the benefits of sensory play whilst parents and carers can enjoy a great cup of coffee and a choice of snacks from our in house cafe.

We will be working with local organisations, carers and health care providers to provide wider offerings for those over 8 years old with complex or specific needs.

Our cafe facilities offer a selection of hot and cold drinks, including locally sourced award winning coffee from Pumphreys of Newcastle, and a range of hot and cold snacks and treats, including a selection of allergy friendly products.

We aim to keep the experience in our sensory cafe as a relaxing and enjoyable one so we limit the number of children we allow in at any one time to a maximum of 15 through a pre-booking system. You can book to visit our Sensory Cafe here. We charge for all children from Birth.

As a not for profit organisation all the funds raised from sales are returned to the Cafe & Clart About, ensuring we can continue to provide support to new parents and support the ongoing development of the Sensory Cafe.

At Jumb Jungle they will have 11,000 sq ft of non-stop fun and games and its all under one roof to keep both the grownups and young ones delighted for hours, one thing for several many years from children to twelve year olds!For babies they have high chairs, bouncer seats, feeding channels and in addition a different nappy area that is changing. Over at jumbo jungle young children have their unique play frame simply they require for that all crucial jungle adventure!For kiddies over 4 yrs . old they will have the main jungle frame which will be an astonishing four tales with a giant twisty slide, rope swings, and a high tower bridge for these with numerous features including slides and tunnels and every thing. This play structure will guarantee kids a very good time with hours of fun and a lot more workout for them to be sporty regardless of the weather feels like doing than they realise they are getting!If that isn't sufficient they also have a fantastic soccer pitch which is a sure hit with all recreations fans also it's indoors!

Jumbo Jungle

The Ark at Crawcrook is a fresh play that is soft in Gateshead. Our Ark themed play frame has three floors including a 4 seater wavy slide, a steep slip that is curly and a zip wire. The play frame is suitable for children aged around 12 years of age however it is effective at using grownups so parents can too try it out!  Weekly pets which are new in the Ark, have fun trying to find all of them. We've an infant that is small toddler part with a variety of age appropriate toys. Our room that is sensory is with bubble tubes, lighting effects, sound, video projection, mirrored ceiling and cushioned flooring and walls. Suitable for under 3s and kiddies with unique needs and/or disabilities. The conservatory yard cafe is a location that is tranquil enjoy our range of hot and cool snacks, light lunches and Fairtrade speciality teas and coffees. These products and snacks will also be available in the play area. Each week (including college holiday breaks) we hold exclusive play sessions for young ones and adults with special requirements and disabilities called SNAP! (Special Needs Accessible Enjoy). These alternate between Tuesdays 1:30pm to 3pm and Thursdays 4pm to 6pm. (see online for dates) Admission costs are reduced of these sessions.

The Ark at Crawcrook

Set the kids on the way to whom they'll be, or just let them have plenty of fun, at trust & get. It's a town that is child-sized children can play make think on sets, in costumes along with total freedom.Let their imaginations run wild in 90 moments of self guided roleplay as a police officer, parent, construction worker and much more. They could get glammed up during the hairdressers or find themselves on the part that is incorrect of legislation in a lineup. Self expression is encouraged but there's also extra activities to help keep them busy, such as for instance mini aid that is first, arts and crafts and a library. The youngest of professionals are held busy in a snug that is special for pre-walkers.
