Relax and unwind at Hobby Farm, our peaceful, countryside adult-only campsite retreat in the heart of the Dorset Marshwood Vale, West Dorset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are numerous footpaths leading to the nearby coastal beach at Charmouth and it is just a 10 minute drive to the bustling seaside town of Lyme Regis. There’s also an abundance of wildlife all around the site with otters and ducklings to be found on the pond, horses grazing nearby and even a badgers set on the hill. There’s also a lovely country pub serving great food and ale just a 500 yard walk down the lane too!
Accommodation types
- Grass Pitch Without Electric Hook-Up — We have 14 pitches, all on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Pitches are marked out with trees on raised banks between pitches for more privacy. Pitches vary in size from around 12 feet wide to 18 feet wide. Pitch also in the middle of the camping field too. We now have a new facilities block with 2 showers and 2 toilets for campers’ use. At one end of the block is a washing up area with hot water and at the other end a ‘desk’ area with two sockets where phones and other electrical equipment can be charged. Also here are two fridges, both with ice boxes. Firepit/BBQs Allowed. Dog Friendly. WE ARE AN ADULT ONLY CAMPSITE.
- Badger's Retreat — Badger’s Retreat Shepherd’s Hut is situated near our pond in our small adult-only campsite. The hut is warm and cosy with heating as well as kitchen area with sink, fridge, and kettle. In addition, Badger’s Retreat has its own ensuite toilet and shower. With the comfy kingsize bed, you’ll sleep soundly and wake up to the sound of the countryside with birdsong and distant church bells. MUST BRING OWN BEDDING AND TOWELS (NOT JUST LINEN BUT BEDDING TOO, IE SLEEPING BAG OR DUVET AND PILLOWS) Badger’s Retreat is a 7′ x 14′ Shepherd’s Hut raised up from the ground by a step. Outside is with bench table seating area and fire pit. Cosy and warm whatever the time of year. You are welcome to fish in the lake in the camp field, just sit and relax around the BBQ or walk the 500 yards to the local country pub.
- Otter's Nest — Stay in the beautifully decorated and equipped Shepherd’s Hut, Otter’s Nest, on the edge of our small adult-only campsite. The hut is warm and cosy with heating as well as kitchen area with sink, hob, fridge, and kettle so you feel right at home. The comfy kingsize bed means you’ll sleep soundly too and wake up to the sound of the countryside with birdsong and distant church bells. Private toilet and shower facilities just a few steps away from the hut outside. MUST BRING OWN BEDDING AND TOWELS (NOT JUST LINEN BUT BEDDING TOO, IE SLEEPING BAG OR DUVET AND PILLOWS) Otter’s Nest is a cosy 6 ft x 12 ft Shepherd’s Hut raised up on a decked platform. Cosy and warm whatever the time of year with a woodburning stove (please bring own wood, kindling and firelights or buy from us.) You can fish in the lake, just sit and relax around the BBQ or walk the 500 yards to the local country pub.
