We are the Millars. We took over West Bastlebog in 2018 and are in the process of restocking the farm. It is a small farm of just over 50 acres and such is the way with scale and farming these days, we farm on a part-time basis. We are registered with the Scottish Organic Producers Association (SOPA) and our land is certified organic.

However we are new to farming. Having lived for the past 13 years in Edinburgh our life has somewhat changed since moving to West Bastlebog. Previously a Chartered Surveyor and a jobbing tradesman Andrew has always had a keen interest in farming life, agriculture and self sufficiency. As an eight year old he was milking dairy cows single handedly on a Sunday morning because the farmer tended to have a little bit too much the night before to get out of bed. Alexa, a primary school and yoga teacher, has grown up with a love of horses and now runs weekly yoga classes in the village hall.

Our mission is simple. Work hard and love what we do. And we really do. At the heart of it lies the desire to be natural with the best animal welfare possible and 100% naturally grown produce; no chemicals, drugs only where absolutely essential , free to forage environments, regular rotation, natural remedies and mothers allowed to mother their young.
