Rivox bunkhouse is a base that is ideal for skygazing, walking, mountain-biking, or staying overnight whenever biking between John OGroats and Lands-End, JOGLE, or LEJOG! The farm is scheduled within a thousand hectares of forestry and enjoys a large variety of wildlife, with Red squirrels, Black grouse, Goshawk, Owls, Otters, Badgers, and streams with water that is clean of air pollution that affects sensitive invertebrates. With many miles of personal Forestry Commission roadways surrounding the farm, the area is ideal to explore by bicycle or by foot while never having to negotiate stiles or challenging terrain.

Accommodation types

  • Bunk Bed — Facilities in the Bunkhouse include bunks for approximately 18 individuals in two rooms (you will need a sleeping case), with two toilets, a shower, and a kitchen. There is an oven/hob in an outside annex that is external to the bunk house. It is possible to stay round a campfire overlooking the pond. Barbeques welcome! Parking is free and private. Rivox is accessed via a road that is private, the B7076 (follow the signs for Middlegill and get underneath the railway bridge, cross the Cloffin Burn and keep on going until such time you understand, turn fully off). The street is employed daily by 2WD vehicles, but care must certainly be taken with ground clearance.
