Owl Yurt

Gorran is a one bedroom apartment off the first floor landing. The lounge look out over the East garden, and is beautiful in the early morning sunshine. The bedroom has a king sized bed. The apartment is formed from a Guest bedroom (the Living Room) and the Nanny’s bedroom (the current bedroom). This room was linked to the Children’s Nursery by the door at the rear of the bedroom which is now permanently locked. 

Gorran - 1 bedroom

Fowey is a large apartment off the first floor landing. The main and twin bedrooms have windows overlooking the attractive east garden and catch the morning sun. For your comfort, the main bedroom has a king sized bed.  The living room is dual aspect, looking across the east lawn and with outstanding views over the south terrace to the village and valley beyond.

The apartment is formed from what was the Master’s Bedroom (the current Living Room) and two Guest Rooms (one of which was almost certainly used by William Makepeace Thackeray – the writer and satirist who wrote Vanity Fair.

Fowey - 2 bedrooms

Epphaven is a two bedroom apartment  which can sleep from 4 to 6 with extra beds.  It is reached from the first floor landing and has two spacious bedrooms; one double and one with twin singles that can accommodate an extra two single beds if needed. The bathroom, living room and double bedroom all have windows overlooking the western part of the garden and catch the afternoon and early evening sun

The apartment is formed from what were originally the children’s Nursery and their bedrooms. The size of the two bedrooms reflects this - during the 1840’s the Reverend Buller’s family managed to fill these rooms with 7 children.

Epphaven - 2 bedrooms 

One or two bedroom apartment (can sleep 2 or 4).

Daymer is a marvellous one or two bedroom apartment, accessed off the first floor landing. It has a bedroom with a magnificent king sized bed and an optional bedroom with twin singles. In the main summer season, we usually let this apartment as a family sized option with two bedrooms, but are happy to offer the one bedroom option outside of school holidays.  You really cannot beat the views from this apartment.  The lounge and bedrooms benefit from superb views over the south garden, swimming pool, village and valley beyond. The double bedroom is dual aspect with a second window facing west, catching the evening sunset.

The apartment was formed from what was the Ladies Bedroom and what might have been a Bathroom or a Receiving Room (a Boudoir). The kitchen and bathroom fill the space previously occupied by the very grand, central staircase and the entrance hall is a part of the gallery that used to surround this large open well, lit by a very large skylight (or clerestory).

Daymer - 2 bedrooms

Caerhays is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a double bedroom offering a king sized bed. There is a kitchen, bathroom with shower over the bath and a lounge that looks out onto the east garden and catches the morning sun. The apartment is on the ground floor and has oil fired central heating. It has a separate entrance from the courtyard car park (up two steps) and immediate access to the gardens.

Caerhays - 1 bedroom

Heligan is a large two-bedroom apartment on the second floor. It has a more cottage character and enjoys extensive views to the south and west over the valley and toward the coast. An extra 14 steps to climb – but on a clear day you can see for miles! The apartment has one double bedroom and one bedroom with twin beds.  The kitchen has plenty of room to prepare meals whilst feeling part of the family activity in the lounge to which it is intimately connected.

Heligan - 2 bedrooms

Our beautiful Georgian Mansion has been converted into unique, spacious, beautifully furnished and fully equipped vacation apartments. The Old Rectory stands in large secluded award winning gardens, with peaceful seating areas to enjoy a glass of wine and a meal. The heated outdoor swimming pool is available from May half term until the end of August.  You can also challenge your family to a game of pool, air hockey or table tennis in the games barn or watch the children have fun on the children's playground.  There is superfast broadband and a laundry if you need it.  

A parking space is available for each apartment in a pretty courtyard next to the house.
Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

The charming fishing villages of Looe & Polperro with their quaint streets, excellent eateries and delicious ice-cream and tea shops are only 10 mins drive, with many pretty beaches within effortless reach - a rock pool utopia! The stretch of the Cornish footpath between Looe and Polperro is both breathtaking and dramatic, with a pit-stop at Talland Bay highly recommended. 

There is so much to do locally, you will be spoilt for choice.  Visit the famous Eden Project, explore exotic gardens bathed by the gulf stream, support the many National Trust properties and coastal walks.  Bodmin Moor is rugged, wild and absolutely beautiful, with little tea shops for refreshments after climbing a Tor.  The Engine house ruins are so atmospheric and you might be lucky enough to see cattle and ponies as well as the ubiquitous sheep.

The village of Lanreath is peaceful with a shop within walking distance and a community pub 'The Tipsy Cow'.
