West Down Views Campsite is a family-friendly site in the middle of dreamy Dorset countryside. It’s just a 15-minute drive to the beach at Weymouth, and a break here puts you close to historic spots like local author Thomas Hardy’s cottage as well as the bizarre rock formations along the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Along with the gorgeous views of Dorset hills, on site there’s a small play area for kids (and the dog) and guests have access to well-maintained flushing loos, hot showers and a washing-up area. As this is a dark site, it’s a good idea to bring a torch for wandering around at night.
