We will help you develop a plan for improvement and youll leave us with a clear direction of what to do next.

As the instructor to student ratio is much smaller, we get to spend more time one-on-one with you, and are able to provide much more direct feedback than we would in a larger group lesson. This helps your surfing skills to progress faster.

It doesnt matter if youre a total beginner, or if youve been riding a while and are struggling to get to that next level, we have instructors for your level of surfing. If youre wanting more advanced tuition, try our Progressive and Advanced Surf Lessons instead.

We only do sit-on-top kayak as these are perfect for exploring, very stable and easy to use  you wont need any previous experience.

3 hours is usually plenty of time to see the best locations and find a number of explorable places.

Kayaking is a fantastic and easy introduction to life on the sea. If you are a beginner, its pretty easy to pick up and if you already have confidence in them, theyre a great way of seeing the coastline! We currently hire a stock of sit on top rigid kayaks and all the equipment you will need for hours of fun in the water! Buoyancy aids are available upon request, and lessons are available too.

Dexters Surf Shop is positioned perfectly for Kayaking at North Bay. Our shop, School and Hire Centre is open 7 days a week and is a mere 30-second walk from the beach. There is free access to indoor hot showers, multiple changing rooms and free lockers to keep your stuff safe while youre in the water.

Wakeboarding is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is particularly popular with youngsters as the skills transfer easily from other board sports such as skateboarding or snowboarding, and the basics can be learnt quickly.

As a beginner, you shouldnt feel intimidated by other, more experienced boarders on the water. We all started in the same situation! At Dexters our professional riders will help you find your legs and feel at ease on the water  gradually building your confidence to tackle harder disciplines.

Wakeboard Taster Session
Who is this session best for?
Great for more adventurous beginners from 12 years old or those with previous boardsports experience.

What does this session include?
This session includes a short safety brief at the beginning plus wakeboard hire along with wetsuit hire/ buoyancy aid/ helmet hire.

About this session
This session will give you chance to start out on a kneeboard. Once you have competently using the kneeboard you will be able to pick up your wakeboard and give wakeboarding a try!

Progressing to Wake boarding
Progression to wakeboarding depends a lot on your level of fitness and previous experience. Most people will get the chance to start learning how to start from the dock on a wakeboard during this session and will get to experience the buzz of wakeboarding riding down the first straight of the cable course, possibly progressing to navigating the corners of the cable. If you want to take things a little slower, book the Cable Pass ( kneeboard Introduction) and come back again next time to hire a wakeboard.

Please note that this is not a formal kneeboarding or wakeboarding lesson with a dedicated instructor throughout the session  its a fun way to give kneeboarding and wakeboarding a go yourself after an initial safety brief.
