Welcome to Williamwood, one of the best kept secrets in Dumfries and Galloway. On arrival, probably the first thing you will notice is the long drive in and the magnificent hedges on either side. Next, you may notice the exceptional numbers of birds which fly out of them. Welcome – you’ve arrived at Williamwood, where farming and nature go hand-in-hand and provide a wonderfully expansive setting for your stay. We work hard to keep our holiday cottages to a high standard and to foster an environment which allows you to relax in comfort; and to explore the wonders of nature, if you wish, with or without your camera. Most of our visitors take away lots of photographs as well as happy memories. We hope you will too. Williamwood is an ideal location from which to explore some of the most stunning countryside Scotland has to offer, with the benefit of being close to some of the greatest cities, like Edinburgh and Glasgow.

- Beckhead Cottage — Beckhead Cottage offers the ultimate country living experience. Set in a delightful location in the diverse region that is Dumfries and Galloway surrounded by trees, enclosing two lovely secluded gardens. From here you can watch the many farmland birds and enjoy nature at its best. Bubbling by is the Beckhead “burn”, were there may be the chance to see the occasional otter. Sitting in the garden, all you will hear is birdsongs, farm animals and the bubbling burn. Inside, this traditional farm cottage has been transformed into a stylish, country themed living space with a unique character. The two delightful en suite bedrooms are designed for comfort, both bathrooms are equipped with power rain head showers. We provide soft, fresh towels and toiletries for your comfort. Beckhead Cottage has an open plan kitchen and dining room where the family can socialise and enjoy cooking and eating together. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave for your convenience. The sitting room has a lovely open fire where you can enjoy the heat from home grown timber. Large comfy sofas to curl up in to watch TV or the live stream wildlife camera where badgers and foxes are regular visitors. A raised badger hide has been built opposite the cottage where guest at Beckhead can sit and watch the badgers.
- Grey Craig Cottage — Grey Craig Cottage is set on the edge of Williamwood Farm, from where it looks over to the loch, as well as the conservation and wildlife area. A popular get away for couples, the cottage offers comfort in a country style stay. Oak floors through out. A patio is just though the floor to ceiling glass doors leading to a hot tub and secluded garden . The sitting room features floor to ceiling patio doors, which allow you to observe the daily routines of farm life and wildlife in their natural habitat. From here you can see the cattle grazing over the fence, while relaxing on a comfortable sofa in front of a log burning stove. The sitting room also has a television with DVD player and live feed wildlife cam, streaming all the action from the feeding station into your living room. Badgers, foxes and lots of birds are regular visitors. The kitchen is well appointed with all modern conveniences. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the single room can be made into a twin room with the addition of a put up bed which is idea for children. The family bathroom features a walk in power shower and a double ended bath and we provide soft, fluffy towels and toiletries for your comfort.
