The seaside town of Lymington is located in the New Forest between Southampton and Bournemouth and is an excellent base for exploring Hampshire. Famous for its nautical history, the marina is full of fishing boats and yachts and plenty of local restaurants and pubs to sit, eat and watch the world go by. The pretty town has lots of activities for all the family both on the water and off. If you fancy a spot of fishing you can charter a boat from the Quayside, or join an organised sea cruise or fishing trip. Do some swimming at the historic Lymington Sea Water baths - a large outdoor saltwater lido with inflatable obstacles and plenty of space for swimming. Take a visit to the St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery which is a good starting point to learn about arts and heritage in the area and learning about the history of Lymington. Venture further out into the New Forest and there are lots of opportunities for outdoor persuits - cycling, hiking, horse riding - or take the coastal Solent Way footpath for amazing views of the Needles and across the sea to the Isle of Wight.
